Divorce Attorney Shin (신성한, 이혼) is a Korean courtroom drama series, co-directed by Lee Jae-hoon and Lim Jun-hyuk. The screenplay is written by Yoo Young-ah and it has been adapted from the webtoon of the same name by Kang Tae-kyung, which was published from 10 September 2019 to 31 August 2021 by Kakao.

The drama stars Cho Seung-woo, Han Hye-jin, Kim Sung-kyun, and Jung Moon-sung in the lead roles. Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 4 showed development in the trivial case of Park Ae-ran and upon learning useful intel, Park Yu-seok schemes to antagonize Sung-han & meddle in the case. Also, Jang Hyeong-geun finds himself in a daze after receiving some distressing personal news.

Netflix describes the series as: Divorce Attorney Shin follows a driven by a personal tragedy, pianist-turned-lawyer who navigates the complex world of divorce — fighting for his clients to win by any means necessary. The K-drama follows Shin Sung-han who majored in piano and became a professor at a music university in Germany.

However, something happens and he is urged to come back to South Korea and starts working on becoming a lawyer. And not just any lawyer but especially a divorce lawyer, due to some reasons that are related to his own life. He is also joined by his childhood friends – Jang Hyung-geun and Jo Jeong-sik who call themselves 40-year-old youths.

In Episode 4, Lee Seo-jin starts working at Sung-han’s office and her arrival also brings in many clients as well. Meanwhile, in Park Ae-ran’s case, although she isn’t able to find the voice recording and notarised document of building ownership – Sung-han persuades her to file a case of defamation against her mother-in-law.

She complies with the same but during mediation, she confesses to actually putting her hand on the MIL and starts crying. Seeing her in such state, her husband decides to do things the right way & takes out the voice recording with the notarised document. It helps Ae-ran get an equal share in the property. Along with it, the MIL also comes around to appreciate everything Ae-ran had done so far, by not only earning for her family for the last 8 years but also taking care of MIL.

Towards the end, the defendant’s lawyer from Keumhwa, Choi Jun, also puts in his resignation to join Shin Sung-han. At first, he gets rejected due to his association with Yu-seok’s law firm but when he put up the term of deleting the piano performance video, Sung-han seems to consider him for a job.

The series will stream from 4th March 2023 to 9th April 2023. Episode 5 will release on 18th March at 10:30 PM KST or 08:30 PM IST.

In the preview for the next episode, Sung-han seems to accept Choi Jun’s deal and employs him, while his video is finally deleted from his channel. But he seems a bit suspicious and question lies if he is doing everything under Park Yu-seok’s command, to spy on Sung-han from near and continue giving him all the intel that can be used at the right time.

While Seo-jin seems to be working diligently after getting the consultation room and might help with the business as well. Along with it, Sung-han is seen in court, while the two ladies who were fighting over a man in episode 4, were seen in the background – implying that he took their case.

But there’s an entry of a new character who is related to him and his nephew Gi-yeong, who finally got to meet but looks like it might not go all that well with her arrival. What is her relationship with them and is she planning to take the nephew abroad is what we will get to know in the next episode.
