Popular Korean girl group Brave Girls announced their disbandment news today, and the fans are devastated. The girls dropped the news earlier today through an emotional music video named, Goodbye to mark the end of their journey as a group.
The group was produced by Brave Brothers under Brave Entertainment in 2011. Initially, the group was supposed to consist of five members, but after multiple changes, four members became a part of the main line-up: Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna. Eunyoung was revealed as the leader. They made their official debut with the single album The Difference on April 7, 2011.

The music video opens with various shots of the group’s introductory greeting from many events. The song starts with a melancholic melody followed by the lyrics “goodbye, goodbye, goodbye”. Further into the video, many different behind-the-scene clips from shoots are compiled to showcase their journey together throughout the years. Clips from their schedules, concerts and venues are also included, where the artists reminisce about their past experiences.
Brave Girls opted not to renew their contracts with Brave Entertainment after staying under it for a decade. Following the decision, the disbandment of the group was inevitable. The company expressed their gratitude towards the artists for their hard work, dedication and passion they displayed; referred to them as icons of hope.

For many years, the girls struggled to stay afloat as they received extremely low commercial success. Brave Girls released a total of six EPs, Back to da Future (2011), Re-Issue (2012), High Heels (2016), Rollin’ (2017), Summer Queen (2021), and Thank You (2022). However, the single Rollin’ suddenly became viral in 2021 and gained immense popularity. The song grabbed top positions in South Korean Charts: Bugs, FLO and Melon.
Following the popularity, they gained a lot of attention and their fandom, ‘Fearless’ (fandom name), grew bigger with each passing day. Nevertheless, each group member decided to part ways with the company; hence, with the single Goodbye, their disbandment was confirmed on February 16, 2023.
