Viking Wolf Ending Explained
The film starts by showing us the history of the lycanthrope infection. In 1050, a sailor named Gudbrand Den Grimme infiltrated an island and stole the werewolf from the vault. None of the Viking ships survived, and there were 20 of them. Fast forward to the present, we see this young girl Thale having popcorn with her sister and father when she is called by her friends to the bay.
She takes a six-pack of beer out from the refrigerator and arrives at the location. A party is going on in the area, and people are getting lit. Another girl, Elin, sees her friend Jonas talking to Thale. In jealousy, she asks him if they can speak somewhere privately, they leave, and Thale is left alone to speak to the other people there. There are treating her like an outsider who has no business being here. Sensing this tension, she leaves from there.

On the way to going home, she sees Jonas and Elin talking, so she stops to listen to what they’re saying. Suddenly, a figure comes out of the forest and pins her down. The figure disappears, and Elin is covered in blood. Unable to hold herself back, Thale goes to help Elin. Jonas is also there, and he is shaking somewhere far away. Once again, the figure appears and attacks Thale, who is looking around for it when Elin is dragged away. Thale is fully spooked and crawls away from the figure.
The police arrive and ask the victims what happened. The next morning, they all come in to give their statements. Thale is extra fidgety, especially after seeing Elin in her surroundings, hallucinating her presence. Meanwhile, the police get a sniffing dog to pick out this animal and figure out what it is. They all venture into the forest, looking for this animal. Especially after they find the claw stuck in a tree, they are waiting for the animal to come out and show itself.

They eventually find the animal, and it has attacked every member of the search party. Four of them died, and one of them was in a coma. Officer Liv is the only one alive to tell the story because someone had given her a silver bullet before and she used that to eliminate the animal. They had invited a vet before going to the forest, and he took a look a the animal’s body, concluding that this could not be a normal wolf so it must be a werewolf.
Liv and the vet make their way to the man who had originally warned her that it is a werewolf. He gives them more silver bullets and tells them about where the werewolf infection actually came from. They decide to make sure that everyone with the virus is eradicated, so the infection doesn’t spread further. The man from the search party is killed, and when they find out that a bus has capsized because of an animal attack. Liv gets there as soon as possible. She finds out that the wolf is actually Thale and has many dilemmas about killing her.

The vet understands this and asks her if they can use a tranquiliser to put it down for a while so they can figure out what to do. Listening to the werewolf hunter, however, has convinced them that the only way to put an end to this is to kill the wolf. Thale’s sister Jenny has been in front of the wolf twice and it has not done anything to her. But when the wolf gets startled, it starts attacking everyone around it. Finally, after the wolf is tranquilised, Liv and her daughter Jenny are safe.
In the final moments of the movie, we see Liv standing in front of the sleeping wolf, holding a gun with a silver bullet, trying to kill her own daughter. As soon as we think there is something about to happen, the screen cuts to black. The police station fades in and we can see Liv trying to go back home. When she sits on her bed, there is a picture of Thale, and she removes a bullet from her pocket to put in front of her, possibly indicating that the wolf has not been killed.
Viking Wolf ends on a note that may seem definitive, but there may still be doubts regarding the death of Thale as the wolf. The film is available to stream on Netflix. What do you think happens to Thale? Let us know in the comments below.

I think she in fact did bite her mom before her sister uses the tranquilizers on her sister. The mom does kill her daughter and the bullet is for her to kill herself if she starts to change.
But she had a cast on her arm when the werewolf bit her? Didn’t seem to go break the skin.
I don’t think she ended up killing her cause its her daughter but it shows that she has the same bullet that she was going to kill Thale with but its the whole bullet not a shell of one so i think she didn’t kill her daughter and something else happened to her but she is still alive and i think the bullet in the last scene is for the Bale cause she was bitten as well and its for her when she starts to change.
I’d say she couldn’t do it, killing her daughter she even said I can’t do it.
I do think the photo by her bed is to remember her daughter before she was a werewolf. She probably released her now werewolf daughter somewhere remote and off the grid. The bullet is either for her husband who is alive but was bitten or scratched I don’t think she was injured by her daughter because she had a cast in where she was getting bitten till the 2nd tranquilizer was injected.
The stepdad was cut by glass, not bitten or scratched. I dont think the mother killed Thale. But I bet the town is infested with infected people after that bus and town square attacks.
Agree.
Agreed
It looks like an unused bullet…I don’t think she did it.
It looks like an unused bullet. I don’t think she shot her daughter.
