Boy With Luv: BTS and Halsey’s Collaboration Hit Registers Historical Landmark With 1.6 Billion Views

Global music act BTS just can’t stop breaking their own records, registering yet another big historical hit with their 2019 music video of Boy With Luv in collaboration with Halsey. Setting apart their repertoire, the video is has become their first one yet on YouTube to reel in more than 1.6 billion views. Additionally, it’s not only their own first video to surpass this achievement but also the first Korean boy group music video to have done so.

Releasing as part of their album Map Of The Soul: Persona in the same year, the song even went on to bag the Mnet Asian Music Award for Song of the Year. Leading with a pop funk and dance vibe, the track’s visuals are dominated by the color pink, much like the album cover as well.

The music video came out on April 12, 2019, thus having achieved the feat in a little bit over three years. Other Korean acts to have surpassed these number of views on YouTube are the videos of Gangnam Style (PSY), DDU-DU DDU-DU and Kill This Love (BLACKPINK).

With the English title of the song translating to “A Poem for Small Things”, the song marks the gradual upward growth of the group from the 2014 release of Skool Luv Affair‘s Boy In Luv. Fans have their own set of theories linking the two, thus mapping the trajectory of the boys and their acceptance of self love as they’ve often preached through the previous series of albums Love Yourself.
