The Patient Episode 10: The Cantor’s Husband
The Patient has been on a ride that sometimes scared us out of our wits and, at times, was so lazy with its plot that it could not keep us invested enough. Yet with its set of ups and downs, we are here with the final episode of FX’s psychological thriller that was bittersweet yet fitting in its own way.
The Patient Episode 10 starts off precisely at the thought where the last episode ended. Alan’s suggestion that Sam is trying to kill his father with every victim gives food to the thought of Sam actually, finally, killing his father. This sets the events of the episodes in motion. We meet the much-anticipated person of the entire show, Sam’s father. He much like any other father reacts to Sam’s accusations of hitting him in a rather dismissive and unrealistic way.
Sam finds his will to kill his father but, the progress of the finale soon makes sure that the death we see is not the one we are promised at the beginning but, the one we had been thinking about and would be sorry for by the end. With Alan’s wise words, Candace’s no assistance and Sam’s desire to be bad over will to be good, everything makes its final showdown as the final episode of the season rolls by.

The Patient Episode 10 really gave it its all. Taking the questions, loopholes, nuances and hope, the final episode tied it all together to give us one end that could not have made sense otherwise. The actors put the best feathers on their acting hats and made us feel everything that they could. In fact, Sam’s creepy smile even had a glimmer of hope for us to feel his character could be redeemable by the end of it all.
The Patient Episode 10: Final Thoughts
Overall, The Patient has been a fine piece of work. It was unique in its storyline and vague yet gripping with its narrative. The Patient did not offer us a lot but, whatever it did, the greys of human emotions, mostly, settled in just fine with the viewers. The possibility of The Patient hitting it off so brilliantly was a shocker but, glad that it did because it gave us so many things to look forward to and learn.

Boo. Not a fun show. Took itself too seriously.
The finale ended 10 minutes after it needed to. Who cares about those actors? I was never vested in them. It should have been curtains when Steve’s face panned out.
Lugubrious, unbelievable and a complete waste of time. Steve Carell’s fine acting was wasted on this pseudo thriller.
