The official synopsis of the film reads An extraordinary girl with a sharp mind and vivid imagination takes a daring stand to change her story with miraculous results.

When she eventually gets into a school, things get worse. The headmistress of the school(played by Emma Thompson) haunts all the students and is typically strict in her tone. She keeps a check on everybody and Matilda is no expectation. Moreover, in one of the comical dance numbers, the headmistress lifts Matilda from her ponytail and swings her in the air.

However, the tone of the trailer shifts drastically when Matilda decides to take her stand. She confronts the headmistress with a strong ‘no’ and presents her innocent case. At first, the little girl seeks out her best interest and later empathizes with the cause of her fellow students.

Even though it’s not easy for Matilda to take on the world, she takes the help of her newly found miraculous power to prove everyone wrong.
