Disney+ Hotstar and Star Wars dropped the documentary, Obi Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return. The 1-hour documentary is directed by David Gelb and features the series director Deborah Chow and actors Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, and Joel Edgerton. Bonnie Piesse and others.
The synopsis reads, “This special explores the return of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to the screen, and Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to their classic roles.”

When Disney+ and Star Wars announced the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, fans couldn’t contain their excitement. From the beginning, Kenobi has always been an interesting character. He helps Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) a lot in the prequels, he knows Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) before he became Darth Vader, and he was also a great Jedi.
In the prequels, Obi-Wan Kenobi keeps the promise he made to Master Qui Gon and trains the young padawan Anakin. We have seen Kenobi have the higher ground too. However, there was not much shown about his life after the Revenge of the Sith and before A New Hope. The 6-episode show helped to fill that gap a little bit.
In the newly released documentary Obi Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return, the makers take us to the 80s when it all started. From the good old footage, we are shown clips of Alec Guinness revealing what made him play one of the best Jedis in the Star Wars universe. His ‘Hello there’ will always make me smile.

From Alec, the focus shifts to Ewan McGregor, who made us admire Obi-Wan Kenobi even more. McGregor leaves no chance to express his love for the franchise, Alec, George Lucas, the series and Hayden Christensen. The actor also shares how it felt to play the iconic character again.
Hayden and Ewan’s reunion was long overdue. The duo met on the sets that changed their lives forever after 17 years. Just like Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen reminisces about getting a chance to play Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader and wearing the suit again.
The conversations happen with some unseen and exciting footage played during the filming of sequels and prequels. The special also features actors Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, and Bonnie Piesse, who portray Reva Sevander, Owen Lars and Beru Lars. The actors share their excitement of being a part of such a big universe.
