Alchemy of Souls OST: Songs From the Show That Gave Us an Emotional Rollercoaster Ride

Alchemy of Souls season 1 was the Kdrama that took us on an emotional rollercoaster ride that brought about emotions of love in various forms, be it the feeling of first love or unrequited love. Starring Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seong-ho, alongside other cast members, the Kdrama is created by Park Joon-hwa, Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran.

The series revolves around Jang Wook and Naksu aka Mu-deok, residents of the fictional country of Daeho, whose shortcomings get eradicated when they invariably come into each other’s lives. Naksu, an elite warrior trapped in the weak body of Mu-deok, becomes Jang Wook’s servant and secret teacher and helps him become better than the rumours that follow him.

The Kdrama had an exciting plot that made us look forward to new episodes every week, and the OST was no less exciting. As the story proceeded, the songs changed colours and fit perfectly with every situation.

With a tracklist of more than 20 songs, we’ve brought seven songs from the show that you just can’t forget!

Scars Leave Beautiful Trace by Car, the Garden

The song that is definitely unforgettable from the show has to be Scars Leave Beautiful Trace by Car, the Garden and we loved the moments that accompanied this track. The lyrics are practically telling us the feelings of Jang Uk who is grateful to have found Mu-deok and will always be there for her.

Aching by Kassy

When you see the lyrics of this song then all you can think about is Mu-deok’s sad feelings and her love for Jang Uk which has been engraved into her heart so deeply that it hurts. Aching, sung by Kassy is really a beautiful song with a beautiful orchestral accompaniment that will leave you with tears.

Just Watching You by Jeong Sewoon

The song will make you cry as you can’t help imagining Seo Yul’s face when you hear this song that reminisces his past with Naksu as he waits for her, always. Just Watching You is a beautiful piece by Jeong Sewoon that will touch your heart no matter what and will have you experience the wait that Seo Yul goes through each day. This is a lullaby for those who have felt his pain.

Raindrops by Gummy

Another song being is associated with Jang Uk as he tries to let his love know that she can rely on him. He can feel her true emotions and does not believe in her words because her heart is speaking out for her. Raindrops by Gummy is another beautiful gift that this show has given to us and the singer has done justice to the beautiful song.

You’re Everything to Me by Shin Yong-jae

The song shows Jang Uk’s persistence to never give up on the love that he has finally found and his willingness to go to her whenever needed. The longing that he has always felt was for her so he is ready to cross every hurdle to go to her and will never give up because he has found the one. You’re Everything to Me is another beautiful song from this show.

Breath by Kim Na-young

Naksu’s feelings that changed from the time that she met Jang Uk who slowly crept into her heart and became the biggest part of her heart are clearly felt in the lyrics. Breath by Kim Na-young is the fragile feelings that change and leave her confused but also leave her unable to let go.
