One of 2022’s much-awaited movies, Laal Singh Chaddha, is just a few days away from its release. Directed by Advait Chandan, the movie stars Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. LSC is an official Hindi adaptation of Tom Hanks’ wildly popular and loved the movie, Forrest Gump.
During media interaction, Aamir was asked whether Tom Hanks’ performance influenced him in any way to perform Laal Singh. The actor revealed that it was not Hanks, but the footage from his son Junaid’s screen test for LSC that influenced him. Yes, Khan’s son had also auditioned to play the character.
Aamir revealed that his ex-wife Kiran Rao and him were blown away by Junaid’s performance which was of about 20 minutes. Khan shared, “I didn’t expect him to be better than me. I got influenced by Junaid and got the sur to act. Not Tom Hanks.”
Aamir said that at that time, he had grown a beard already for six months. He shaved his beard as almost everyone liked Junaid’s performance. However, the writer and director of the movie told Aamir that he should be a part of the movie.
“The reason they said is because it’s not a plot heavy film. It’s a very episodic film. So don’t take a newcomer in an episodic film. So I came back onto the project. Then again I started growing my beard.” shared the Dangal actor.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan was asked if any screening would be held for Tom Hanks. The actor said, “I have written to him asking if he’s free and he would like to watch. I’ve got a feedback from his agent that they’re seeing his schedule and Paramount will be releasing it all over the world.”
Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on August 11, 2022.
