Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 4 Review Contains Mild Spoilers
After the massive showdown between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader in the last episode, fans were left visibly shaken and worried about the fate of Leia in the hands of Reva as well as Obi-Wan’s health (as Vader tried to burn in through fire, much like how Anakin was left by Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith). In the fourth episode, light is shed on what follows next in a classic Star Wars manner.
Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 4 begins with Obi-Wan being taken by Tala to someplace safe after she rescued him in the previous episode. Obi-Wan is constantly haunted by the images of Anakin as Darth Vader and, when he gains consciousness, we get to know that he is on Jabiium. A planet that has a safe house. Meanwhile, Leia is in Reva’s clutches and, the Third Sister tries her best to get information out of the Princess of Alderaan.
A desperate Obi-Wan seeks help from Tala and her mates on Jabiium to invade Darth Vader’s facility and rescue Leia, a mission that entails a lot of dangers and the chance of getting caught and facing painful consequences. Although, not everyone is happy with the plan, Tala volunteers to take Obi-Wan to Vader’s facility to help Leia escape. What happens to Leia, Obi-Wan and Tala at the facility is for the audiences to watch and find out but, it sure is filled with some edge-of-the-seat anticipation and moments of both panic and joy.

Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 4 is a nostalgic call to all the times we saw impossibly risky dangerous rescue missions being executed by our favourite Jedis. From meeting Leia in A New Hope, where she was ultimately rescued by Luke and Hans Solo to Rey being helped out of Kylo Ren’s facility in The Force Awakens, this episode was an inevitable call the makers had to take to keep the spirit of the franchise alive. And, it was a work well done.
Obi-Wan and Tala’s partnership does not go deep but, it cuts right at the edge for them to help one another. As for our young Leia, she is a replica of Carrey Fisher’s Leia we have known all through the franchise, it shines brightly in this episode more than ever. As for Reva’s obsession with Kenobi, well, the makers are yet to shed light on it but, that is one thing that is keeping the audiences intrigued as is another Vader-Kenobi showdown. The stunts aren’t out worldly and, sure, they could have done better but, it worked well to show a rusty yet skilful Kenobi in form.
Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 4: Final Thoughts
Overall, Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 4 was an intense episode. It gave the characters the edge they needed- Reva as an obsessive Empire maniac, Obi-Wan as a caring Jedi and Leia as a headstrong princess-in-the-making. It invoked nostalgia but, it did not forget to keep us wanting for the next episode with a hint of doom looming over our titular character. With two more episodes to go, it will be interesting to if Kenobi will get through his PTSD phase of seeing Anakin turned into Darth Vader and if he will ever move on from the past.
