Suzhal The Vortex Trailer: Kathir-Aishwarya Rajesh in Amazon Prime’s First Original Tamil Thriller Series

Suzhal The Vortex is an upcoming Amazon Prime Video’s first original Tamil series, whose trailer has been released on 7 June 2022. The series is created by husband and wife directing duo Pushkar and Gayatri, who are known for their acclaimed 2017 film Vikram Vedha. Directed by Bramma and Anucharan M and starring Kathir, Aishwarya Rajesh, Radhakrishnan Parthiban and Sriya Reddy in the lead roles.

The official synopsis describes the series Suzhal The Vortex as a crime thriller that goes beyond the routine investigation and threatens to shake up the cultural societal fabric when a crime hits a small-town India. Set against the backdrop of a unique micro-festival, ancient myths collide with the troubling present as we are drawn into the eye of the storm.

The trailer shows that a young girl disappears from a small town in Tamil Nadu. And what begins as a missing-person investigative drama soon spirals into a thriller with twists and secrets that threaten to tear apart the town and its delicate social fabric. The trailer of the series is mixed with evocative music and reciting dialogue which set a dreadful tone for what to expect from the series.

Although set in a rural village in South India, the creators believe that the emotions and the heart of the story are universal. The plot revolves around the thriller mystery which when investigated further, leads to a rollercoaster of situations, beliefs and secrets that makes the characters, and the viewers constantly oscillate between what’s true and what’s not.
