Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 3 Review: Faceoff of the Dark and Light Forces

Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 3 is now out on Disney+. The Star Wars series stars Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi/Ben, Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Sung Kang as the Fifth Brother, Moses Ingram as Reva Sevander/Third Sister, Joel Edgerton as Owen Lards, Simone Kessel as Breha Organa, Vivien Lyra Blair as Leia Organa, Jimmy Smits as Senator Bail Organa, Kumail Nanjiani as Haja Estree, Grant Feely as Luke Skywalker.

The 50-minute episode is written by Joby Harold, Hannah Friedman, Hossein Amini and Stuart Beattie and directed by Deborah Chow. The synopsis for Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 3 reads, “Obi-Wan searches for allies as he attracts the attention of the Empire, threatening the locals.”.

Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 3 Recap/Review Contains Spoilers

At the end of episode 2, Obi-Wan learns that Anakin Skywalker is alive and now goes by the name Darth Vader. Obi-Wan is shaken to learn the truth. He goes on his knees and remembers Master Qui-Gon. We also get a full look at Hayden’s Darth Vader. Vader tells Reva to get hold of the Jedi and Leia if she wants to be the Grand Inquisitor. If she fails to do the task, the consequences will be deadly.

Obi-Wan and Leia manage to rescue for some time. However, the stormtroopers are on alert and looking for him and Leia. Until they’re safe, Leia learns that Obi-Wan is aware of her birth mother. In episode 3, Obi-Wan again takes out his lightsaber and fights the stormtrooper.

While trying to hide from the stormtroopers, Obi-Wan gets help from someone known. Who is it? You will have to find the same by watching the episode. However, things are not in favour of the Jedi and Leia. But Obi Wan Kenobi series finally gives us the big moment we all have been waiting for. Darth Vader and Obi-Wan come face to face after 10 years. The scene will give chills to every die-hard Star Wars fan.

Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 3 Still 1

Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 3 on Disney+ Hotstar had some good moments. Of course, the part where Obi-Wan and Darth Vader come face to face is the best sequence. However, the first two episodes were much better. The story progressed only a bit in the case of Vader and Kenobi.

Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 3: Final Thoughts

Overall, the new episode is a treat for fans awaiting to see Obi-Wan and Darth Vader coming face to face. It’s a big shock for Obi-Wan, who did everything he could to make sure his young padawan Anakin Skywalker turned into a good Jedi. Seeing him completely turn to the dark side where all he cares of power, destruction, and death is traumatic for Obi-Wan.

The new episode is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
