The Johnny Depp-Amber Heard defamation trial ended on Friday, May 27. The Jury is now deliberating the case, and the result is expected to be out this week. The entire trial was quite overwhelming, dramatic and revealed many secrets. Many witnesses and experts from both sides testified for/against Johnny and Amber. The lawyers from both teams did their best to prove the allegations levied by the former couple against each other.
It was Amber’s 2018 op-ed that resulted in this defamation trial. She wrote the op-ed when the #MeToo movement was at its peak. Now that the trial is over and people have heard various audio recordings and watched videos/pics, they have picked their sides. A lot of people took to Twitter to slam Heard for misusing the #MeToo movement against Johnny Depp.
Netizens are trending #MeToo movement and sharing their opinions on how they believe Amber Heard is the abuser. One person wrote, “Calling Amber Heard the ‘Imperfect Victim’ is acknowledging that you see inconsistencies in her story but you’re too scared to admit that Johnny’s story makes more sense. Reverse the genders & see who sounds more truthful. It’s not Amber. #MeToo IS Over #JusticeForJohnnyDepp”.
Another person wrote, “I support #MeToo but I can’t in good conscience believe #AmberHeard. I dealt with an Amber in my life last year, and I know for a fact that women CAN be extremely cruel.”
“If a man say I was not punching you, I was hitting you to a woman. He would go direct to jail.
But when a woman says this same thing to a man she is an ‘IMPERFECTIVE Victim’. @MeTooMVMT get your facts straight. #AbuseHasNoGender #MeToo will die when Amber wins. #JusticeForJohnny,” shared a Twitter user.
