Blood Sisters: Will Netflix Renew the Latest Nollywood Thriller Series?

Netflix’s latest thriller has everyone obsessed and, we can only imagine the demand for Blood Sisters Season 2 rising with every passing day. The Nigerian thriller is created by Temidayo Makanjuola and, consists of 4, 50-60 minutes episodes. The story revolves around the lives of two best friends, whose lives are changed forever when one of the friend’s powerful fiancé mysteriously vanishes before the night of the big wedding. The series features a mix of talented newcomers as well as veterans of the Nollywood film industry, which is what makes it all the more excited and has become a fan favourite quickly.

Newcomers Nancy Isime and Ini Dima-Okojie headline the series by playing the role of two best friends in this dark thriller along with veterans Kate Henshaw, Uche Jombo, Ramsey Nouah, Segun Arinze and Joke Silva. The question of if there will be Blood Sisters Season 2, especially because the show ended on a massive cliffhanger, is running through everyone’s minds. By the end of Blood Sisters, we see all our major characters in the same spot where Timiyen has already shot Femi and Olayinka and, plans to shoot Uduak, when Joe, Sarah and Kemi enter the scene. What happens to all of our remaining characters is left to the imagination of the audience. But, with that ending a potential hint towards season two also seemed to be dropped.

When Can We Expect Blood Sisters Season 2?

As of now, Netflix has not given out any official word on if the show is set to return or not. The series came out labelled as a limited series but, given the amount of love it has received it will be only a matter of time before Netflix gives it a green light. Also, coming from a Nigerian production team, this show will be a gem to flaunt in Netflix’s ever-expanding foreign language slate.
