How I Met Your Father Episode 6: “Stacey”

If you think, this episode is the nod towards Stacey Gusar’s character from How I Met Your Mother, then you are absolutely wrong. However, just like Stacey Gusar’s episode in How I Met Your Mother which created a competitive rift between Ted and Barney because they both slept with her, this episode takes these two factors and places them separately in the life of our new crew in New York.

Sophie and Drew are the power couple madly in love but, waiting on sex. The duo gets invited by the Marshall and Lily of this story- the other power couple, Sid and Hannah and, the four set off to enjoy a lovely get together. However, it does not exactly go as planned when both of the couples’ relationships start to fumble.

Sophie becomes obsessed with Drew’s ex-girlfriend Stacey, which makes Sophie grow apart from Drew and, yes, do something wildly crazy. Meanwhile, Sid and Hannah also go through a rough patch when the latter confesses to being left out from all of the former’s major life decisions.

The trouble in paradise does not end as Valentina gets a taste of her own salt. We know how headfast and, no-bullshit person Valentina is and, for the longest time audiences were led to believe that Charlie feels okay about Valentina talking about her sexual partners until we realize in this episode that he isn’t. To add salt to the wound, he opens up about his prior romantic partners and, the pattern Valentina notices infuriates her.

A new addition to this episode is Mia, who enters as the girl Jesse is going out with but, turns out that it is the same person Ellen has slept with! This creates a troublesome encounter leading Jesse to indirectly accept his feelings for Sophie.

How I Met Your Father Episode 6: Final Thoughts

Overall, How I Met Your Father Episode 6 has its good moments that includes Sophie and Sid’s one-to-one, which might be the first one in this season and, the wholesomeness of the scene did really stand out. Charlie being the coolest character ends the episode on fire, literally and, we do get to see another side of Valentina that we weren’t sure existed.
