Jared Leto’s Morbius Delayed, Fans Believe Sony Will Add Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man Scenes

While Tom Holland starring Spiderman: No Way Home has been breaking records at the box office and earlier this year Tom Hardy starring Venom: Let There be Carnage grossed a massive 500 million worldwide in box office revenue, another big Sony-Marvel movie is in the pipeline. The Jared Leto starring Morbius is the next movie in Sony’s own pocket Marvel movie franchise and the hype for that film has been slowly building.

Directed by Daniel Espinosa, the movie will show the story of Doctor Michael Morbius (portrayed by academy award winner Jared Leto). Doctor Michael is a scientist who suffers from a rare blood disease. In an attempt to cure the disease with dangerous experiments, The doctor gains all the powers of a Vampire, but with none of the weird side effects that traditional Vampires suffer.

According to reports from Deadline, Morbius is delayed from January 28th to April 1st. The delay is due to the fear of the new Covid 19 strain-Omicron. The report also mentions that Sony had wanted to give more breathing room to its tentpole movie Spiderman: No Way Home, which is showing no signs of stopping.

Morbius delay-Andrew Garfield in the Amazing Spiderman

Meanwhile, Fans have become disappointed yet again after the postponement news. This movie was originally scheduled to release in 2020 almost two years ago but has been constantly delayed ever since. But some fans think the delay might be a cause for optimism as they that Sony is delaying the movie to bring in Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman. After the release of Spiderman: No Way Home demand has been high to see Andrew Garfield back in the Spiderman role after his The Amazing Spiderman trilogy was canceled to bring in Tom Holland’s Spiderman.
