The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 15 Review: The Boss Cannot Decide!

After seeing the Dark Lord in person for the first time, I can’t say that I’m a fan. The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 15 promises to deliver more context and the usual Jahy hijinks, so here’s hoping that it can rescue the not so auspicious introduction. Let’s get right into the review! This episode is also known in original Japanese as Jahy-Sama Wa Kujikenai Episode 15.

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 15 – The Review

Jahy kokoro Jingu

I’ll be upfront about this- I didn’t expect much from this episode of Jahy-Sama. Like most people, I feel that the show has been going too long without doing much of anything, and I didn’t expect that to change. Jahy is a show that doesn’t bring anything new to the table and is generally just there. After 15 episodes, one can just think about a scenario is predict, word for word, exactly what Jahy would do in them and how they would end.

The series has been coasting for a while now, and even with the introduction of the final character in the show, the Dark Lord hasn’t been able to inject it with the life it once had. The comedy is cumbersome and mostly non-existent, and the plot is entirely too predictable. Things aren’t going well for the series, as public interest is also at an all-time low. It is becoming forgotten before it has even stopped airing.

However, there is another facet to it. Comedy was always a part of the show, but it wasn’t the point. The plot was always there, but it was never supposed to be a good one. Both of these were always supposed to serve as vehicles for the show’s best quality- its tender, pure, and wholesome messaging. There is a lot of heart in the show’s plot and character interactions. So much so that even if you’re getting bored to tears, you will still finish an episode with a smile on your face.

Such was the case in The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 15, as we saw Jahy have a great time with the Magical Girl, Jingu, and Kokoro, who is just a small ball of sunshine and rainbows. No mouth can remain stiff, and no mood can remain sour when she’s on-screen. While the segment was nothing special and even boring at times, it still had a lot of heart. The same can be said about the next segment, where Jahy and Jingu learn how to work together.

That part of Jahy Sama Episode 15 worked well, and the references to Food Wars didn’t go unnoticed by anyone. But, it was ruined at the end by the addition of the new worst character in the series, the Dark Lord. She is an ungrateful glutton who doesn’t deserve Jahy’s love and admiration, and I will not hear otherwise. Overall, this episode was nothing special and boring at times, and the show has lost most, if not all, of its momentum. It’s still sweet, though, for what that’s worth.

Verdict

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 15 was nothing but just another episode of a show which feels like it checked out and stopped caring a while ago. Why did we start watching it again?
