Camp Confidential America’s Secret Nazis talks about an obscure footnote in WWII history. It focuses on how a group of Jewish soldiers were put in charge of playing hosts to a bunch of German scientists as well as interrogating Nazi POWs. This was a top-secret project, one that remained tight-lipped for 5 decades until the 2000s.
The Nazi angle is always apparent in the background and the will that it might have taken the Jewish soldiers to not go overboard. Camp Confidential America’s Secret Nazis is a documentary featuring veterans from that era talking about their experiences and telling the audience how everything went down. Along with the animation, you get to see the people behind the voices in-person – they look frail but their voices carry their strength and resolution.
The pain that they went through during that time, especially after leaving their own country behind, must have been devastating. And then you get posted to a place and you realise that you’re going to have to look after a bunch of Nazis – it’s harrowing and you’d be able to understand that through the veterans’ voices. It’s difficult to watch and the animation and real-life interview shots mix together to provide an interesting watch.
That being said, this format would work for history buffs who are really into knowing about the unknown, especially during the WWII era. It’s not an easy subject matter to digest, however, I don’t think kids would enjoy this even though it’s a short watch plus it’s animated. The subject matter goes well for adults or young adults who understand the significance of the time and what is being said.

Camp Confidential: America’s Secret Nazis is a short but difficult watch. It’s never easy to listen to people who have been at the receiving end of the world’s worst genocide. On top of that, we have to listen to them having to work in such close proximity to their abusers. It’s difficult but worth it, especially with the 35-minute runtime. It’s a nuanced film, but one that will make you want a feature-length alternative.
