MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 55 Review: Fast and Fancy

MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 55 is an all Elimination Challenge. Except for Linda, the remaining contestants (Justin, Elise, Kishwar, Tommy, Pete and Sabina) are a part of it. Judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo, inform the cooks that the challenge will take place in two rounds.

As the final week is nearing, the competitions are getting tougher. MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 55 is called Fast and Fancy Elimination Challenge. The first round is called the Fast Food Challenge. In the first round, the cooks have to select an ingredient of their choice, which they have to a hero in their fast food dish. Three cooks who will make the best dish will be safe from the second round.

In the second round, three contestants who fail to impress with their fast food dishes have to use the same ingredient and make a fancy dish. The dish should scream of fine dining restaurant and also taste delicious. For both the MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 55 challenge rounds, the cooks get 75 minutes.

To stay in MasterChef Australia Season 13 competition, Justin and Kishwar choose chicken as their main hero. Justin makes Chicken curry tacos with avocado, pickled radish, and Salsa Roja for the Fast Food round. Kishwar cooks Khow Suey with different condiments. Sabina cooks Sour tomato fish curry.

Tommy uses beef to hero in his fast food dish and cooks Bo La Lot. However, he faces some issues during the cook. Similarly, Elise and Pete are worried about their dish as they struggle a bit. Elise cooks Sicilian Style Sardines and Pete makes Patatas Bravas.

MasterChef Australia Season 13 judges taste all the dishes. They love Justin, Kishwar and Sabina’s dishes the most. Hence, the trio is saved from round two of the Elimination Challenge. Unfortunately, Pete, Elise and Tommy fail to present a perfect and delicious dish. Hence, they enter round two, in which they have to use the same main ingredient and make a fancy, restaurant-quality dish in 75 minutes.

For round two of MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 55, Pete makes Potato Puree with Buttermilk, caramelised buttermilk and dried olives. Elise cooks Pappardelle with Sardines and Native Aqua Pazza. For round two, Tommy makes Bun Bo Hue. The judges love Pete’s dish and find no fault in it.

Elise’s dish is also tasty, but the judges wish that her pasta was thin. However, Tommy serves tasty broth, and the judges are impressed with his dish’s technique. However, his beef was blue, due to which he gets eliminated from the competition. We now have our Top 6 entering the Finals Week – Elise, Justin, Kishwar, Linda, Pete and Sabina.

MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 55: What’s next?

The Top 6 contestants will be a part of a six-course service challenge at a restaurant in the next episode. The contestant who fails to leave a mark with their dish will be eliminated.
