MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 12 Review: Pressure Tarts!

After the exciting team challenge in the previous episode, MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 12 brought lots of pressure. As team purple lost the challenge, contestants Eric, Sabina, Connor, Maja, Kishwar and Therese found themselves in the Pressure Test Challenge for elimination.

MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 12 was called Jock Zonfrillo’s Two Tart Pressure Test. Jock tells the 6 contestants that they will have to recreate one of his tarts – sweet or savoury. Connor and Therese decide to make the sweet one, where Eric, Sabira, Kishwar and Maja choose the savoury tart.

Well, is it even MasterChef Australia if there’s no twist? As soon as the contestants choose the tart they will cook to save themselves from elimination, Jock Zonfrillo gives them a shock. He swaps the tarts on the tables and says that the contestants have to cook the opposite of what they’ve chosen. So Conor and Therese have to make the savoury tart, and others have to cook the sweet tart.

The contestants were astonished as they wanted to play to their strengths. Conor, Therese and Eric decided that they will face the challenge no matter what as there is no point in stressing out. MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 12 was another chance for Therese to use the immunity pin and save herself. But the contestant says she wants to prove to the judges that she can cook good savoury dishes too.

While the contestants are cooking their respective tarts, judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong, and Jock Zonfrillo talk about the twist. The other cooks who are watching the 6 of them cook from the gantry are also equally astonished by how tough the game has gone. They leave no chance to encourage their fellow contestants.

Talking about the sweet tart, Eric is enjoying the cook and decides to play it calm rather than losing his mind. Kishwer and Maja also give their best, whereas Sabina struggles a bit from the start. On the other hand, Connor is enjoying his savoury tart cook, and Therese is also doing her best while getting nervous in between.

As we head closer to MasterChef Australia Season 13 Episode 12’s Pressure Test challenge end, Maja, Sabina and Kishwer end up with a mess. The trio fails to get their tart shell off the container while others easily do it. So, 3 contestants present incomplete dishes to the judges.

Andy, Mel and Jock love Eric’s sweet tart the most, followed by Connor and Therese’s savoury tarts. Among the three incomplete dishes, they find Maja’s dish the weakest one. Hence, Maja gets eliminated from MasterChef Australia.
