9-1-1 Season 10 Episode 3 Review on X: The Lava Emergency Wraps With Explosion
One of the biggest talking points surrounding the latest episode is how the show manages to conclude the three-part opening emergency. User @JohnKBrown acknowledged that the suspension of disbelief required was high, writing, “#911onABC the suspension of belief needed for the three-part opener is high, especially its resolution……BUT…… I will say the special effects and the pacing was excellent”, giving the episode a B-.
Another user @MaxJGao seemed even more enthusiastic about the conclusion, describing the episode as a return of old 911, writing, “Tonight’s episode, which concludes the opening lava emergency, really feels like #911onABC of old: incredibly daring rescues mixed with some great interpersonal drama, especially between two fan-favourite characters. Just excellent, escapist TV all around.”
The balance that the show delivers seems to be the best part of it according to the viewer reviews.
Fans Think 9-1-1 Has Delivered Three Bangers Consecutively
The one thing that viewers seem particularly pleased about is the consistency of the three-part opener. User @godspeedbuckley praised the episode for the seamless way it concluded the opening emergency while simultaneously setting up new storylines for multiple characters, writing, “that was such a seamless way to close out the opening emergency and open new arcs for multiple characters, huge kudos to you 911, you’ve done it again”, further adding that they were the top 3 best openers of the entire series.
Another user, @hvnterbvck, seemed impressed and reacted to the show’s latest episode with a rather enthusiastic note about the quality of the opening scene, pointing out that the series had delivered three bangers, writing, “3 CONSECUTIVE EPS AND ITS ALL BANGERS?? #911onABC”.
Another user, @meowbuckley, had a rather funny post around 9-1-1, writing, “love how 911 emergencies just get wrapped up after 3 episodes like the volcano was like aww u guys tried so hard alright i’ll stop now”.
With the lava emergency reaching its conclusion, viewers seem to be looking towards the personal storylines that could become the next major talking point, and it involves Buck and Eddie. User @yunhore brought up the two characters while comparing the latest opening emergency with the previous one, writing, “Having watched the new 911 episode and comparing it with every other opening emergencies, I want to believe that the volcano waiting to erupt is whatever ** is happening between Buck and Eddie”.
9-1-1 Episode 3 Has Viewers Being Stressed
All the praise for the episode’s pacing and rescue sequences comes with the viewers stressing. @ejdoesnotexist admitted that the episode had left them genuinely overwhelmed, to the point of feeling like throwing up, writing, “this episode has had me genuinely so stressed i feel like throwing up”.
The emotional investment seems to be the key that keeps the audience watching, even when the plot requires them to temporarily forget how volcanoes, emergency responses and several other things actually work.
X Verdict: 9-1-1 Episode 3 Is a Strong Conclusion to Opening Emergency
9-1-1 Episode 3 seems to deliver a satisfying conclusion to the lava emergency while leaving enough space for the show’s character-led storyline to take the spotlight further. The special effects, pacing, emotional stakes and daring rescue sequences have largely impressed viewers, even if the resolution requires a rather generous amount of suspension of disbelief.
More importantly, the three-part opener appears to have reminded the audience the reason they liked the series in the first place. Going by the X reviews, the emergencies, personal drama and the characters continue to be the reason viewers keep watching the show.
