The 59th Baeksang Arts Awards 2023 is upon us, and the lineup is brilliant and massive this year. These awards are widely recognised and are highly acclaimed in South Korea. The screening process is rigorous and only allows the best of the best in film, television, and theatre to be showcased on their stage. This year the awards will be held at Incheon Paradise City, Incheon. Nominees for the awards were announced on April 7, 2023.
Also known as the 제59회 백상예술대상, these awards will be hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Bae Suzy, and Park Bo-gum. For all the nominees, there were 60 professional evaluators, judges in the industry and experts who understand film, television and theatre conducting this process of choosing the best projects released this year and the past year. Works released between April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023, were eligible for nominations.

This year past winners like Ryu Seung-wan and pairs like Sol Kyung-gu and Lee Hye-young, Jo Hyun-chul and Kim Shin-rok, Jo Woo-jin and Lee Soo-kyung, Goo Kyo-hwan and Kim Hye-joon will also be attending the ceremony this year. Additionally, nominees for best director, like Park Chan-wook for Decision to Leave and Lee Jung-jae for Hunt, will be attending the ceremony to celebrate their brilliant films. At the same time, actresses like Song Hye-kyo from The Glory and Park Eun-bin from Extraordinary Attorney Woo will also attend the ceremony.
They will be joined by their fellow nominees, Kim Ji-won, Kim Hye-soo and Bae Suzy. From the actors’ list, we have Kim Do-hyun from Reborn Rich and Jo Woo-jin from Narco-Saints. They will also be joined by their fellow nominees, Park Sung-hoon, Kim Jun-han, Kang Ki-young and others. As seen above, all these household names from the Korean drama world will be present at the ceremony, ready to engage in some healthy competition to see which of these come out on top.

IU and GOT7’s Jinyoung have won the TikTok popularity awards of the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards 2023 and will also be coming to the ceremony. People are also expecting the former to win big for the film Broker as a Best New Actress this year.
When and Where to Watch the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards 2023
The award ceremony will be broadcast live in South Korea on JTBC and internationally on Tiktok. Viewers can catch the awards on April 28, 2023, from 5:30 PM KST or 2:00 PM IST.
