It’s a new year and with that comes some great new Kdramas that we can’t wait to watch. The 2022 Kdramas promise to be absolutely amazing, however, we, of course, have our favourites. From supernatural Kdramas to romantic Kdramas, there are all kinds in this list for all your varied interests. As said above, we just can’t wait for these to release!
All of Us Are Dead
Ah, another zombie show is coming our way! After the absolutely amazing Kingdom, Train to Busan and #Alive, South Korea is coming out with a zombie series that looks like it’s going to be top-notch. Production values are, of course, high thanks to Netflix being in the mix. The story, too, looks promising since it is based in a high school that becomes ground zero for a zombie virus outbreak. Yeah, we’re as intrigued as you are.
All of Us Are Dead will stream on Netflix from 28 January.
Juvenile Justice

Kim Hye-soo returns to the small screen with the extremely anticipated Juvenile Justice on Netflix. The series follows Hye-soo who is appointed as a judge in juvenile court but the twist here is that she absolutely hates juvenile offenders. There’s obviously a twist here that she was a victim of a juvenile crime when she was young. So, will her interactions with those who come her way at work change her mindset? We’ll just have to wait and find out!
The Juvenile Justice release date hasn’t been announced yet, but we are expecting sometime in January or February 2022.
Money Heist
The Korean iteration of the hit Netflix heist series might come as a shock to many, but what we are interested to know is whether the series is going to follow the storyline of the original Spanish thriller or go down a different path altogether. Not a lot is known about the storyline of the series but all that we know is that the series will star Park Hae-soo as Berlin. The rest of the cast is below:

Monstrous

Supernatural drama Monstrous is for anyone who is interested in a good scare! Set in Jinyang County, the series follows two archaeologists who end up in the village and try to figure out the reign of terror of a supernatural entity. The series stars Koo Kyo-hwan, Shin Hyun-bin, Kwak Dong-yeon and Nam Da-reum alongside other cast members.

The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate / The Chaebol’s Youngest Son
Vincenzo’s Song Joong-ki stars in this revenge-drama where he is betrayed and murdered by a rival after which he wakes up in another person’s body and seeks revenge. Also known as The Chaebol’s Youngest Son, the series is going to be amazing because if Vincenzo is any indication, Joong-ki shines in shows that showcase revenge and vigilante justice. Plus, it also stars Shin Hyun-been so you know it’s going to be something to look out for.
Release Date: TBA
Weather People / Forecasting Love and Weather

Park Min-young and Song Kang star in this rom-com, also known as Forecasting Love and Weather, about workplace love and relationships. It’s supposed to be cheerful and a fun watch, one that keeps you hooked to the screen. Also, if Song Kang’s previous works are any indication, this is going to be a butterfly-inducing watch, one that keeps the drama at an all-time high.
Release Date: February 12, 2022.
Twenty Five Twenty One
Starring Kim Tae-ri and Nam Joo-hyuk, the series is about love, friendship and growing up. Promising to be a heartfelt watch, the series follows two people who meet when they are 22 and 18 but start their romantic relationship at 25 and 21.
Release Date: February 12, 2022.
Glitch
Starring Vincenzo’s Jeon Yeo-been, this mystery Kdrama has Yeo-been’s Hong Ji-hyo searching for her boyfriend who mysteriously disappears one fine day. She takes the help of a UFO watchers group to get to the truth of her boyfriend’s disappearance.
Glitch releases on Netflix sometime in 2022, but thanks to the pandemic filming was delayed so release, too, is a bit in the air.
Release Date: TBA.
Tomorrow

After my surprising favourite release of 2021, The King’s Affection, Rowoon returns to the small screen with a very interesting TV show. Choi Joon-wong, without a job for the last 3 years, falls into depression and decides to take his own life. However, that plan is thwarted when he meets another person attempting to take their own life. Accidentally, they fall over a bridge either way and Joon-wong ends in a 3-year-long coma during which is soul is half-dead and half-alive. During this time, he works at the underworld’s crisis management team. Yep, this one’s going to be interesting.
Release Date: May 06, 2022 (tentatively).
Our Blues
Boasting an impressive cast list which includes Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’s Shin Min-a and Squid Game’s Lee Byung-hun, this easy-breezy upcoming 2022 Kdrama focuses on the inhabitants of Jeju Islands whose lives form the basis of this heartwarming story. I feel like it’s going to be somewhat similar to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha but, of course, without the enigmatic Hong Du-sik.
Release Date: April 09, 2022 (tentatively).
