I must admit that Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan Prevue is off the hook! While I was not happy with how Pathaan turned out, the trailer itself put me off and I wasn’t expecting much. I would like to look at it as SRK’s litmus test to see if he was taking a step in the right direction by going all out on action. Well, the film might not have worked for me but it did take the box office by storm, thereby proving that he wasn’t wrong.
Not that he could pull back Jawan if Pathaan flopped but it always helps to know what the audience wants. With the latter becoming the highest-grossing Hindi movie ever, the Baadshah of Bollywood is leaving no stone unturned to promote the former which is his first pan-India project. Jawan will involve more SRK and less VFX which was not the case in the Siddharth Anand action flick. With multiple avatars and a more “grounded” action, Atlee has seemingly put in all his power to ensure that King Khan gets the reach he deserves.
