You Don’t Know Me Season 2: Will the Netflix Show Return With Hero’s Verdict?

You Don’t Know Me is a Netflix courtroom drama series which is based on the 2017 crime novel of the same name by Imran Mahmood, who is a barrister himself. The series is directed by Sarmad Masud and the screenplay is adapted by Tom Edge. It originally aired from 5 December to 13 December 2021, on BBC One.

The series follows the story of a man convicted of murder but his version of the events tells otherwise. The truth about the murder mystery is unravelled in this 4 part series. Starring Samuel Adewunmi, Sophie Wilde, Bukky Bakray, Roger Nsengiyumva, Tuwaine Barrett, Yetunde Oduwole and Nicholas Khan.

You Don’t Know Me Season 2: Has Netflix Renewed the British Drama?

At present, neither the series producers, BBC executives nor Netflix has confirmed the development of You Don’t Know Me Season 2. But considering the open and ambiguous ending, there are chances of the series being renewed on popular demand. Even prior to Netflix’s release the show had received positive reviews about the story and the cast. Now that it is available to the audience globally we can expect huge demand for another season.

In the end, at first, we were confused with the simulations in Hero’s mind regarding the verdict believing he was said to be guilty and a minute later he wasn’t. But it was all his imagination. When the actual verdict is being announced and we are holding our breaths to know the result of the jury’s vote but the series ends before that.

Honestly, open-ended films and TV series are totally fine, as it leaves something for the audience to think about and come up with their own conclusion. But in this case, it’s just plain torture. The whole series is about the case and if we don’t get to know what’s the conclusion then it really is a waste of time to sit through the episodes that lead to nothing.

The ending could be a deliberate attempt by the creators to see the audience’s reviews and if they get much attention then maybe they could take the story forward in season 2. If another season does take place then we could see what the verdict was and depending on that, the plot will be shaped. If Hero is found guilty then maybe, as Kyra promised earlier she might come back and confess to everything as her doing. This will lead to the case reopening or Bless could feel guilty and confess the same.

And if he is left free to go then he would try to find Kyra, but they aren’t free from Glocks entirely. So it could be another hide and chase between the couple and London’s underworld. Either way, there’s a lot that can be explored in You Don’t Know Me Season 2. With our fingers crossed let’s just hope we get a conclusion to Hero’s trial.

  1. Needs an ending so hopefully there’s a season 2, and not in two years, tend to forget about movies when they take years.

  2. No I hate that ending I like when a series is so good and it ends like that it stinks I hope they come back with a season 2

  3. There should be a season 2 this is totally messed up and a waste of time of they don’t release a new season

  4. It truly a great suspense movie series. I hate cliff- hangers!
I loved the roles of the main characters and would like to see them again in season 2. We need to know the verdict and the adventure of what happens next.
