Who is Big Mouse? Big Mouth Episode 6 Clues; Can It Be…

Big Mouth Overview

Big Mouth (빅마우스) is a crime-thriller-mystery Korean TV series directed by Oh Choong-hwan and stars Lee Jong-suk, Im Yoon-ah, Kim Joo-hun, Kwak Dong-yeon and Yang Kyung-won, alongside other cast members. The series takes over MBC’s Friday-Saturday 10 PM KST timeslot, previously occupied by Doctor Lawyer.

Big Mouth Kdrama revolves around Park Chang-ho, a below-average lawyer who gets embroiled in a conspiracy when his “big mouth” lands him in trouble. A murder case ends in him being called genius swindler Big Mouse, which results in him scrambling to clear his name and his life from the conspiracy and its results, with the help of his wife Ko Mi-ho.

Who is Big Mouse? Big Mouth Episode 6 Clues

Big Mouth episode 6 gave us a rundown of not only Chang-ho’s romantic nature and proved once again how our titular protagonist and his wife have a ton of love and trust in each other, but it also showcased Big’s power and resourcefulness. It’s pretty apparent that Big Mouse is someone who is already inside the prison, but with so many characters to consider, the playing field doesn’t get very small.

Regardless, Chang-ho mentions to his wife that he and Big Mouse have been communicating via English tarot cards wherein he has been leaving questions in the Bible, and Big Mouse has been leaving tarot cards in its place as the answer – it is up to Chang-ho to decipher them and act accordingly.

That being said, Chang-ho thinks that he has Big Mouse running around in circles, just like how the latter has him wrapped up around their fingers. And that might just be true – the way Chang-ho laughs at Chae-bong and Du-geun for thinking that they have outsmarted him in the last scene of episode 6, it feels like our charming and scary protagonist has a plan up his sleeve.

But, there’s one interesting thing that happened in episode 6 – we saw just a tiny bit of Big Mouse as they try to wrestle Chang-ho unconscious to give them the real list of customers. Of course, this took place when no one was there, so it’s difficult to corroborate whether it even happened or not. We might even get to know in the end that Chang-ho has some sort of psychological issues, and he himself is Big Mouse without his own knowledge.

But, disregarding that possibility and relying solely on Chang-ho’s version of events – we see our elusive criminal’s shirt number as he is rendering Chang-ho unconscious. The number reads 2143/2145 and is black on a white background. Plus, they are wearing brown clothes and not the blue ones like some other prisoners. Now, if you remember, Chang-ho’s prison numbers are blue-on-blue. So that (probably) discounts him. Jerry and No Park’s are both black-on-white, but their numbers are 2518 and 1420. That discounts both of them.

However, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibilities to imagine that Big Mouse might be using some other prisoner to get to Chang-ho. If that’s the case, then Jerry or No Park would be the biggest contenders. Maybe Big is both of them – it’s not a huge leap. Both of them are very close to each other and became fast friends with Chang-ho. They have been following Chang-ho around like a hawk from day one and would know when he delivers his messages in the Bible.

Plus, No Park has a really good idea on tarot reading, and Jerry’s resourcefulness is a useful skill to have in such situations. The former walk around with the ‘priviledged’ prisoners while Jerry stays with everyone else to keep an eye on both factions of prisoners. Or maybe, they (or one of them) used another prisoner’s shirt to avoid detection.

That being said, if Big Mouse is Guard Soo-chul, he’d be able to see everything that happens everywhere, and it wouldn’t be a big deal for him to use one of the prisoners to knock out Chang-ho. My bet is on Jerry, simply because Kwak Dong-yeon is an extremely popular and talented actor with some really good shows under his belt. It’s hard to believe him being only a sidekick without any added flair to his character. But then again, the show itself might just pull a fast one on us with this one!

All of this is fun speculation, but Big Mouth episode 7 might just give us the real name – and it’s getting difficult to simply wait for another week for the answers!

Check out the series on Disney+ and on MBC.
