Whale Store XOXO Episode 4 Recap
The episode starts off from last week, after Wan kisses Maewnam and then falls back on the bed, exclaiming that she’s drunk. Maewnam is a bit confused, but very happy with the way things progressed. Wan, however, is left very embarrassed! She wakes up the next morning and walks right into Maewanam while opening the door; however, thankfully for her, she, too, is awkward about last night’s goings-ons. She teases Wan cheekily, leaving her even more embarrassed.
In the end, she changes her clothes ready to go to work, and Wan is mesmerised by Maewnam until the latter finally tells her that she knows Wan was only pretending, leaving her exasperated! Confused, she later calls Noey to know what to do, and she tells her to look inward to know all the answers. Meanwhile, Chom and Tonnam meet the new professor, Mahnmook, who is immediately cold to them for some reason. Interestingly, she takes a liking to Maewnam, much to Chom and Tonnam’s annoyance.
That evening, Maewnam arrives at Wan’s store, starving, and she makes instant noodles for herself, making Maewnam shamelessly flirt with her in return. Wan is left flustered, but it seems to make Maewnam even bolder! In the end, Maewnam invites herself over to work at the store during Songkran Festival, and the pair eventually enjoy a little water gun fight with the neighbourhood kids.
As these two enjoy their time at the festival, Chom and Tonnam’s romantic day is ruined when Chom’s mother arrives out of the blue and Tonnam has to rush out of her apartment barefoot. When she later comes back, it’s clear that Tonnam is unhappy and disheartened about Chom not telling her family the truth. Elsewhere, Wan shares her feelings with Maewnam about Uncle Lee, and she promises to help her mend her relationship with him.
The next morning, Wan goes to Uncle Lee, who, although not over his feelings against her, seems to have accepted her apology. Later, Maewnam directly asks about Wan’s feelings for her, and she is forthcoming as well, confessing to liking her back. However, she doesn’t want to rush into a relationship just yet, opting instead to take it slow. Maewnam, however, is up for the challenge!
Whale Store XOXO Episode 4 Review
I loved this episode of Whale Store because it’s so light-hearted and sweet. Truly, nothing of note happens, but somehow you feel happier after it! Either way, episode 4 finally gave us the confirmation that we wanted and needed and gave us another facet of same-sex relationships that we are yet to see with Wan and Maewnam. One can only hope that things work out for all these sweet couples. On the other hand, the introduction of a new character seems to signify something drastic in the protagonists’ relationship. I am pretty sure Mahnmook is crushing on Maewnam, which will result in a love triangle sort of thing. I hope not, but it seems imminent at this point!
