Web Series Releasing in May Week 2 (2023): Dahaad, Black Knight, Class of 09 and More

Starting May 8, we’re looking at a new list of web series releasing in May week 2. With our hectic schedules and life getting in the way of a time well spent, all we have is art, music, and entertainment to cheer us up through the daily cyclicality of our routines. Last week introduced some new titles like White House Plumbers and K-dramas including Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 to us. The upcoming stretch of next seven days is brewing a similar rush of emotions and content with all the comedy, drama, action and everything else that awaits us ahead.

Yet again various OTT platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Hotstar and more have become our targets as we wait to get acquainted with new mysteries and characters. Here are the new (and some ongoing) web series titles that you can add to your next week’s calendar .

List of Web Series Releasing in May Week 2

MAY 8 (MONDAY)

MasterChef Australia Season 15 (Indian Release)

Following the unfortunate passing away of the fan-favourite judge, Jock Zonfrillo, the release date of the upcoming cooking competition has been revised to May 7, but for Indian audiences, the show will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from May 8, 2023.

White House Plumbers Episode 2

MAY 9 (TUESDAY)

Love Village Episode 5-8

With the first four episodes of the Japanese wedding and romance reality TV series having released on Netflix on May 2, the next set of four episodes will premiere this Tuesday. Starring singles aged 35 and over who have been relocated to a countryside villa, the series seeks to help them find “the one” for them.

MAY 10 (WEDNESDAY)

Missing: Dead or Alive

Netflix’s new investigative documentary series follows officers from South Carolina sheriff’s department as they dig into mysterious disappearances following dire circumstances.

Queen Cleopatra

Adele James plays the role of Egypt’s last pharaoh, Queen Cleopatra in the upcoming Netflix docudrama series. The show will map out her reign of 21 years between 51 BC and 30 BC, concluding with her ultimate suicide.

Race

Directed by Lee Dong-yoon, and starring Lee Yeon-hee, Hong Jung-hyun, Moon So-ri, TVXQ’s Yunho and others, this South Korean drama series will stream on Disney+ Hotstar on a weekly basis till its 12 episodes wrap up. Set up as a workplace drama in a conglomerate’s PR department, the show will introduce us to stark opposite friends, Park Yoon-Zo and Ryu Jae-min. Dedicated to her work, Yoon-zo soon starts working with the PR expert, Ku Yi-Jung, which brings her professional growth with Seo Dong-Hoon working as the PR agency’s flexible CEO in the background.

Dance Brothers

Netflix’s first Finnish drama series will share an inspiring heartfelt account of two brothers who open a club on their aspiring journey to become dancers. Eventually, their relationship is put under cold waters when their business starts clashing with their dreams.

The Muppets Mayhem

The Muppets’ band, Electric Mayhem, is getting back together and “rock is how they roll” as they set out on a new adventure to record their first music album. The comedy musical series stars Lilly Singh, Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudhry, Anders Holm and others, with cameos by Steve Aoki, Lil Nas X, Zedd, Sofia Carson, Morgan Freeman and others. The show is set to release on Disney+.

Class of 09

Set to release on Hulu in the coming week, this American suspense limited series stars Brian Tyree Henry, Kate Mara, Raul Castillo, Jake McDorman and others. The thriller show will centre around a class of FBI agents who struggle to deal with new amendments made by artificial intelligence in U.S. criminal justice system. These agents are eventually brought under one roof following a mutual friend’s death.

Ultraman Season 3

Returning back to Netflix with the anime’s final season, Ultraman directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki will the see the titular warrior along with his comrades – Seven, Ace, Zoffy, Jack and Taro – fight off an army of aliens and put an end to it all in the final showdown.

MAY 12 (FRIDAY)

Dahaad

Although an underdog cop, Sonakshi Sinha’s Sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati’s roar will be heard loud and clear as she tracks down Vijay Varma’s ruthless serial killer on the loose. Tasked to lead the investigation of a series of murders targeting women in their 20s, initially made to look like suicides, Anjali and a well experienced killer commence the game of cat and mouse.

Queer Eye Season 7

Soon to stream on Netflix, the new season of the American reality TV series will capture ‘The Fab Five’ – Jonathan van Ness, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski and Tan France as they set out on their quest to revamp New Orleans. As seen previously, the show centres around the five figures showcasing they expertise in various arenas like fashion, food, design, and culture and give the particular place’s residents’ lives a makeover and a chance for them to start anew.
