Villainess Level 99 Episode 3 Preview: Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I’m Not the Demon Lord or Akuyaku Reijō Reberu 99: Watashi wa Ura Bosudesuga Maō de wa Arimasen (悪役令嬢レベル99 ~私は裏ボスですが魔王ではありません~) is a new anime series based on the Japanese light novel series with the same name written by Satori Tanabata with illustrations by Tea. Directed by Minoru Yamaoka, the script of the show is written by Fumihiko Shimo and character designs handled by Hitomi Kaiho and Lo Ho Kim.

Mayu Maeshima lends her voice to the opening theme song, Love or Hate?, while Fairouz Ai and Rina Hidaka, embodying their respective characters, perform the ending theme song titled Suki ga Rebechi (好きがレベチ, Love on a Different Level). The series has been officially licensed by Crunchyroll, and Plus Media Networks Asia holds the licensing rights for the Southeast Asian region.

Villainess Level 99 Plot

Having undergone reincarnation, Yumiella Dolkness finds herself thrust into the world of Light Magic and the Hero, an otome RPG where she takes on the role of the clandestine boss. Determined to secure her survival, she dedicates her childhood to relentless level grinding. However, a twist of fate reveals an unintended consequence: Yumiella surpasses expectations, reaching the formidable Level 99 instead of the anticipated Level 10 for students. This overachievement not only attracts undue attention but also deviates from the meticulously crafted script of the game, setting the stage for unforeseen challenges in her reincarnated journey.

Villainess Level 99 Characters

Yumiella Dolkness is the main character, a reincarnated girl destined to be the Secret Boss in the otome game following the Demon Lord’s defeat. Yumiella, though a bit eccentric, has good intentions. Patrick Ashbatten, the male lead and Yumiella’s only classmate unafraid of her, harbors deep feelings for her. Ryu, Yumiella’s pet dragon, hatches from an egg nurtured with her dark magic. Alicia Ehnleit, the heroine, fears Yumiella due to her Light Magic, seeing her as dark smoke with glowing eyes. Despite Alicia’s attempts to befriend her, interference from capture targets hinders their connection, leaving Alicia weak. Eleonora Hillrose will also be appearing in the anime.

In the last episode, Yumiella was accused of lying about her way into the academy. Later that day, the students were taken to the field to show thir abilities. In the first test, they were given the task of showing off their physical strength and naturally Yumiella was asked to appear first. She easily defeated her fellow students and proved her abilities. The next test was to show off their spells. No one was able to destroy the object except for Yumiella. However, the prince and the principal were trying to throw her out of the school. But she proved her skills again by making a black hole in the sky.
