Vigilante Trailer: Nam Joo-hyuk Unleashes His Wrath as a Dark Hero Created by Society

Over the years, Korean dramas have evolved beyond our expectations, featuring everything from romantic comedies to suspenseful thrillers, thus proving they can excel in every genre. Disney+ Hotstar has finally dropped the Vigilante trailer on September 25, 2023. Hallyu wave fans are way too excited to see Nam Joo-hyuk in this new role, as he is presently serving in the military, and this is his last drama to be released before he completes his mandatory military service (expectedly in September itself).

Based on a webtoon of the same name, Vigilante Kdrama (비질란테) will follow the adventures of Kim Ji-young played by Nam Joo-hyuk, a model student at the National Police University by day and a vigilante who pursues and punishes criminals by night. This action-packed Korean drama is directed by Choi Jeong-yeol. It also stars Yoo Ji-tae as Cho Heon, Kim So-jin as Choi Mi-ryeo, and Lee Joon-hyuk as Cho Kang-ok.

Vigilante Trailer Still 1

In the heart of the city, Kim Ji-young led a double life. By day, he wore the uniform of a dedicated police officer, tirelessly working to protect the innocent from the clutches of crime. When the day ended and night fell, he donned a hood and became a vigilante, eliminating criminals who might otherwise slip through the cracks. His mother had met with a tragic end at the hands of a local mobster when he was just a child, a wound that had fuelled his unyielding determination to prevent such atrocities from staining his city again.

Balancing the roles of a compassionate cop and a ruthless avenger was a daily struggle. The victims he encountered haunted his days, while the malevolence of the criminals demanded a harsh response. As time wore on, the line between good and evil began to blur, leaving him to grapple with a moral quandary.

The trailer unfolded with Kim Ji-young, portrayed by Nam Joo-hyuk, delivering a stark warning, “You should’ve spent your life in regret. But now, blame the law for letting you go free,” as he meted out justice to those who sought to evade it. Jo Hean, played by Yoo Ji-tae, head of the investigation team, arrived at the scene, recognising the depth of determination and righteousness required for such a pursuit. He sensed a complexity to the situation and resolved to dig deeper.
