Unstable Trailer: Self-Involved Genius Entrepreneur Rob Lowe Seeks Son’s Help in Netflix’s Comedy Drama

The trailer for Netflix’s upcoming sitcom, Unstable, has finally dropped. Starring Rob Lowe in the lead role, takes up the role of an ‘unstable’ extraordinary entrepreneur alongside his real-life son John Owen Lowe who takes up the role of his reel son in the latest comedy.

The idea for the series stemmed from the social media trolling of John’s famous father and turned the distasteful situation into a bright idea to produce a television show. Created by the Lowes alongside comedy veteran Victor Fresco who also worked on Better Off Ted and Santa Clarita Diet, the story follows an eccentric innovator who lost his way following his wife’s death and an introverted son who arrives to rescue his father from spiralling further.

The plot of the series follows successful biotech entrepreneur Ellis Dragon whose life flips upside down after the death of his wife. He struggles to get back on his feet as the company, which relies on his inventions, is under imminent threat. Helplessly, his employees, afraid of losing their jobs, seek out Ellis’ son Jackson’s help as the last resort to save the company.

After much convincing, Jackson agrees to help out his father and save the family company. The young man returns home and instantly gets into disagreements with Ellis. Constantly living under his father’s shadow, it gets difficult most time while dealing with a narcissistic inventor. Few minutes into the trailer, we get an idea of their turbulent relationship and how different they are from each other. They both continuously try to change each other and have a hard time accepting their differences.

Fleagbag‘s star, Sian Clifford, will also appear in the show as the Dragon Company’s CEO, Anna. Her dynamic with Ellis is also somehow unsettling. However, it will be interesting to witness how relationships and characters develop with time. The story of an eccentric father and a frustrated son through comedy looks promising, and the audience is equally as excited to watch how the story will unfold.

Moreover, many exciting characters are present in the series, which will help us understand the depth of the story. The trailer looks promising and Rob Lowe’s return to the small screen along with his son is awaited by many!
