The Truth: Unmasked Episode 6 Recap
The episode opens with a woman being stalked by someone as she swims alone. Getting flashbacks of a bloody scene, she rushes outside to see that someone has messed with her car’s tyres.
Later, the police conduct a search and seizure of the GR E&C building after the events of the last episode. Meanwhile, Han Do, So-ryong and their lawyer are called in to discuss their investigation and reporting based on the disgruntled aide’s testimony. In the end, the GR team is forced to accept defeat after So-ryong asks them to settle the matter in court.

Elsewhere, Nam Ga-yeon is having a terrible time with the stalker situation – she even receives a letter odd for the supposed stalker that leaves her shaken. It seems, however, that the perpetrator is one of her coworkers, who makes odd eyes at her. She takes the letter to the police, who gaslight her about the situation and she leaves the station frustrated and frazzled. The stalker later finds Ga-yeon outside her house and terrorises her. She desperately calls Na-hee for help and So-ryong gets there as well.
The women band together to help Ga-yeon find the perpetrator and Na-hee tells So-ryong that this is surrounding a case that happened 10 years ago and asks her to investigate what is going on. The team watches the shocking footage together and everyone is left traumatised by the brutal assault. However, they refuse to get into the mess without the police since they find it too risky. So-ryong decides to take up the case alone but, thankfully, Han Do has a change of heart eventually.

So-ryong and Han Do go out to find CCTV footage to help Ga-yeon but that’s easier said than done. Han Do, however, is finally able to get his hands on the CCTV footage of a sex toy shop opposite Ga-yeon’s swimming club. Although she is concerned about the corporate card in his hand, she is impressed with how he is using it.
The next day, Ga-yeon tells Na-hee that she is in love with someone else and is also engaged. She shares the cause of her terror and Na-hee can’t help but comment on telling her partner the truth of her past. Ga-yeon refuses and Na-hee is left frustrated with the situation. As the two women are talking, a terrified Ga-yeon tells the women that Choi Ho-seong is no longer in prison and has been transferred to a mental health facility. Without many options, So-ryong hires Yu Yun-cheol to help them with the case and then agrees to let Ga-yeon stay with her.

As it turns out, the weird colleague is apparently Ga-yeon’s fiancé who leaves some flowers for her with So-ryong and promises to protect her no matter what. So-ryong receives a surprise birthday party which she celebrates with everyone and at the end of the night, she hands over the dashcam footage from outside Seong-wook’s house to Song-i. And as if happiness is something that we don’t deserve, Han Do tells So-ryong after everyone leaves that he’s Dr Trigger.
The Truth: Unmasked Episode 6 Review

Why do good days have to end like this? Unmasked episode 6 will extend to next week and although we don’t get the nice, complete ending that we all wish for, I think this episode was better than the last. The crime showcased in the episode is horrifying and the inability of the police to take crimes against women seriously is a serious shame but reflects reality well. I think the episode does a great job of hooking us and keeping us hooked with the cliffhanger ending and is peppered with enough funny and heartwarming sequences to keep us waiting. I am quite interested to know where the story is going from here, and I am not ashamed to admit that I was expecting Han Do express his feelings for So-ryong in that last bit. Ah, well – we can all dream.
