Unlocked Trailer reveals an upcoming South Korean thriller film, set to be released on Netflix next month. The film is a directorial debut by Kim Tae-joon, who has also adapted the screenplay from a Japanese novel of the same name by Akira Teshigawara. The novel has been adapted into a film before as well, with the title Stolen Identity.
The official Netflix synopsis of the film reads, “A woman’s life is turned upside-down when a dangerous man gets a hold of her lost cell phone and uses it to track her every move.” While the trailer description says, “Your phone has all your secrets, Someone is pretending to be you. Who’s the stranger inside your phone?”
The cast of the series includes Yim Si-wan as Jun-yeong – a man who approaches Nami after accidentally picking up her smartphone.
Chun Woo-hee as Nami, a marketer at a startup company; Kim Hee-won as Ji-man, a detective chasing the culprit of the murder case; Park Ho-san, Kim Ye-won, Jeon Jin-oh, Kim Joo-ryoung and Lee Jae Woo.

The Korean title of the film is – 스마트폰을 떨어뜨렸을 뿐인데, which literally translates to ‘I just dropped my phone’. In the trailer, we see how a person uses their phone for everything from paying for things to getting on the bus, trains etc and to taking lots of pictures obviously. And the moment you lose your phone, it’s a panic situation as your whole life is confined to that gadget.
Luckily Nami, is able to get her phone back, which was found lying on the bus and the person who found it says that the screen was broken. But in reality, we see a man deliberately breaking the screen so he can tamper with it. He then leaves it at the shop for Nami to collect, however, from then on starts the digital stalking by the man, played by Yim Si-wan.
We often joke about the numerous apps invigilating us through the microphone or the camera, but what if someone actually starts to keep a tab on you and even access your phone easily? Like a person living in our phone, looking at everything we do and even more that we never did, but get accused of. This is what Nami has to deal with as she gets mired in difficult situations that she has nothing to do with.
So much so, there’s even a murder and the murderer could be the same person as Nami’s phone hacker. But what is his ultimate goal and why did he choose her phone to get involved in everything? This is what we will be finding out, and on another note, Yim Si-wan as a psychopathic character is really intriguing to watch. Especially after watching his acting in Emergency Declaration, this role looks equally promising.
