Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 4 Reactions: Seong-nam is Established as the Constant Favorite Among Fans

Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 4 has strengthened the fans’ approval of Grand Prince Seong-nam as he not only raced to find a cure for his brother but also stood his ground in the debate about their plaguing nation and the suffering plight of commoners. The debate itself serves as a determining ground for each of the princes’ characters – Seong-nam (Moon Sang-min), Bo-geum (Kim Min-ki), and Ui-seong (Kang Chan-hee).

Each of their thoughts are governed by distinct motives and ideologies. While Bo-geum plays his role as a mediator, Ui-seong merely views the people around him through a utilitarian lens, reducing them to objects but Seong-nam is the only one who remembers to take their problems into count and approaches them as fellow human beings.

This particular episode also weighs into some previously featured flashbacks of Queen Hwa-ryeong (Kim Hye-soo) and Seong-nam’s past, hinting at another deeply buried secret that will shine its light when the time is right. Other visions that were especially adored by the fans are that of the “calm before the storm”, wherein the Queen shares a heartfelt scene with all of her sons during the dinner banquet. Watching each of the five siblings’ dynamics play out is certainly a sight we’d like to witness more but obviously, our wishes won’t be granted till our limits are tested by all angsty interferences.

The Crown Prince (Bae In-hyuk) had shown considerable improvement in his condition after taking the herbs brought in by Seong-nam from the village. However, the last blood-spattered scene is bound to overturn that relief once again. We’re yet to find out if he was poisoned by someone or has simply relapsed again (even though the former seems more likely at this point) but the fans are more interested in watching how this will impact the relationship between the two brothers.
