Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 12 Twitter Reviews: Fans are All In for the Royal Wedding Mess

Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 12 premiered on Netflix on November 20, 2022, and has brought yet another team member under Queen Hwa-ryeong’s (Kim Hye-soo) wing – Oh Ye-ju’s Cheong-ha, a.k.a the new Crown Princess. Having promised the Minister of War, Minister Yoon, who’s also the father Cheong-ha’s father, about keeping her safe in the palace despite Queen Dowager’s plans of deposing Seong-nam (Moon Sang-min) (now her husband), the Queen asks for his equal support in shielding her son.

This episode also saw the three Royal wives – Hwa-ryeong, Consort Go (Woo Jung-won) and Tae (Kim Ga-eun) – coming together to list down the possible candidates for the post of the Crown Princess. They embark on an adventure outside the palace, dressed as commoners, to grasp the situation better and judge the prospects for the selection process. Fans have noted their similarities with the three Powerpuff Girls, and now it’s really hard to unsee this parallel drawn between the two trios.

Since the first day, Queen Hwa-ryeong has barely caught a chance to breathe an air of relief or take a break from her duties. Now that her current predicament regarding her struggles to get Seong-nam to the top has been resolved, a new problem awaits her next week as Grand Prince Muan (Yoon Sang-hyun) seemingly has a child with Cho-wol. The show’s fanbase couldn’t stop posting memes related to the scene of Hwa-ryeong’s breakdown on Twitter.

The major highlight of the twelfth episode was the royal wedding of Crown Prince Seong-nam and Crown Princess Cheong-ha. However, since Cheong-ha was initially announced as Queen Dowager’s choice, Seong-nam takes his time to trust her. He has feelings for her, but whenever his grandmother’s name is involved, his guard automatically goes up, owing to his past distasteful relationship with her. Audiences were heartbroken after seeing the anticlimactic reunion of the couple and tweeted their heartbreak on the blue app.
