David Wilcock, a prominent figure in the UFO disclosure and paranormal communities, reportedly died at age 53 in an apparent suicide. Boulder County sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call at 10:44 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2026, in the 1400 block of Ridge Road near Nederland, Colorado. The dispatcher suspected the caller was experiencing a mental health crisis, according to TMZ.
Deputies arrived at 11:02 a.m. and found a man outside the residence holding a weapon. He used it on himself minutes later and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has not officially released the man’s identity. Colleagues, fellow researchers and at least one sitting U.S. congresswoman have publicly mourned Wilcock’s death, however.
Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna posted on X, “We just learned of the tragic passing of David Wilcock. We are praying for his family and loved ones and the millions of lives he impacted.” She followed with a Bible verse, John 8:32.
Steven Cambian, host of the YouTube channel Truthseekers, spent hours contacting Boulder County authorities to verify the identity. He posted: “There is no ID or official confirmation yet. It appears David Wilcock may have committed suicide on 4/20/2026. More news as I get it.”
The timing adds to the shock: Two days earlier, on April 18, Wilcock hosted a 3½-hour YouTube livestream discussing fellow researchers’ recent deaths.
Nick Pope, a former “Ancient Aliens” contributor, died in early April 2026 after announcing a stage IV esophageal cancer diagnosis two months earlier. Swiss author Erich von Däniken, known for “Chariots of the Gods?”, died in January 2026.
Wilcock told viewers: “I’m excited to be here. Every day that I have on Earth is a gift and a blessing, and I’m grateful for that, because frankly, people are disappearing. Scientists are going missing.” He added, “I gotta say it’s a little bit scary (…) I’ve had a really rough week. Like, you know, that’s kinda like every week, but somehow we keep on making it through all of this.”
The night before his death, April 19, Wilcock posted on X: “My Dear Family, I am not yet sure if I am doing a show tomorrow. I’ve had some very intense stuff going on this weekend (…) I want you all to know how much I love and appreciate you.”
As suicide speculation swirls, an old 2022 post from Wilcock — in which he denied being suicidal and vowed to live — has resurfaced online. Some commenters note that people who publicly reject suicidal thoughts sometimes struggle privately before acting.
Wilcock’s longtime collaborator Corey Goode, who co-hosted Gaia TV’s “Cosmic Disclosure” with him, said he was “shocked and horrified.” Goode wrote that in their last talk, Wilcock fixated on cyberstalkers who “destroyed his life” and urged fans to report harassment to authorities.
More details are awaited as the investigation continues.
