Typhoon Family Episode 3 Recap

The episode opens with Tae-poong desperately trying to stop the shipment of textiles from going out to Daebang Textiles. Meanwhile, Mi-seon, too, tries to delay sending the fax as much as possible and makes an excuse to go out to see what’s keeping Tae-poong. Just then, she runs into a bunch of protesters who try to stop the factory from shutting down. Elsewhere, Tae-poong’s last-ditch attempt to stop the trucks is to lie down on the road and hope that the trucks don’t run him over. Thankfully, Mi-seon arrives just in time to deliver the news of the factory shutdown, leaving him thankful.

However, terminating the contract is the least of their worries, as the containers are being unloaded right then, on the road, after the company is unable to find a warehouse. Tae-poong ends up sitting and guarding the fabrics throughout the night in a truck parking area. The next morning, they find a very dilapidated warehouse, but there’s not much option anyway.

As jobs continue to diminish and businesses shut down, Typhoon Trading Co. wholeheartedly attempts to sell the textiles, but it seems like a grim prospect. As her colleagues start to panic, Mi-seon proposes that they return the fabrics instead of trying to sell something that no one wants anymore. They realise that even with a 30% return fee, they will still make a profit. It’s a shot in the dark, but they try their shot and eventually get a positive response.

Unfortunately, it rains that night, and Mi-seon and Tae-poong rush to the warehouse to see the state of their fabrics. Thankfully, the fabrics have plastic on them, but they still desperately try to stop anything from happening to them. In the end, they are successful, but of course, greedy businessmen will never cease to exist, and on a technicality, their fabric is confiscated for overdue payment. Tae-poong barges in to talk to Bak-ho, but soon realises that the entire thing was a scam from the start.

Heartbroken, the employees give up and decide to cut their losses, although Tae-poong refuses to give up this easily. That night, he goes to Mi-seon and gives her the news that he has just become the CEO of Typhoon Trading and needs her assistance to keep the company going.

What a heartbreaking watch this episode has been, and it ends on a rather bittersweet note as well. The realities of the Typhoon Trading employees are grim, but it’s Tae-poong’s positivity that’s keeping me going. The sneak peek shows more heartbreak for the young CEO, but hopefully, with Mi-seon’s help, things will look up. I am waiting for his revenge arc against the Pyo clan as soon as possible. Sweet, sweet vengeance can’t come fast enough!
