Tsurune Season 2 Episode 13 Overview

When the first season of this franchise dropped, we did not think it would be able to make a name for itself in the competitive sports anime market. But, it managed to set itself apart by becoming one of the very first anime that solely focuses on Kyudo, a Japanese martial art of archery.
This second season will be directed by Yamamura Takuya, who has worked on fan favorites like Koe no Katachi, Violet Evergarden, Clannad: After Story, and Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren, etc.
Tsuruoka Youta will be directing the music for this series, and we have heard his works on anime like Koe no Katachi, Violet Evergarden, Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica, Hellsing Ultimate, etc.

Tsurune Season 2 Episode 13 Review and Recap – Not Over Yet

The 13th episode of this beautiful anime is here, and we are back again with its review. Today’s episode starts with the Kazemai Kyudo club lazing around in their practice rooms. The girls tell them to stop their leisurely moment as they are the ones who swore to practise like hell before they can win the tournament. But even Kaito tells her to cut them some slack as they have practised over their holidays.
That is when Masa san comes in to inform them to get ready for the promise they made at the time of the feast. And according to that pledge, the Kazemai boys will have to take the ceremonial shot at the heavenly star festival.
This is a huge deal as a very important meaning is attached to the ritual. But this is all the more reason for the boys to be nervous about being chosen for such a vital tradition.
On the day of the festival, even the boys from Kirisaki join in to watch the Kazemai archers shoot. This happened because Ryohei had already informed Shuu about this, and Shuu then invited everyone else in his team. Even his little sister visits and has a fun time at that event.

The ceremony starts, and our boys get dressed in traditional attire, looking absolutely stunning and majestic ready to take their shots. All of them, along with Masa, stand in front of a target with the word ‘oni’ or demon written on it. But it has a deeper meaning as the kanji for a demon, is made up of self, other and none. This depicts how the way of the bow exists outside of competition.
All the while they were taking shots, the boys remembered how much they had grown from their past selves. They understand their hardships and appreciate the friends and family members who helped them thrive. The anime ends with everyone from the Kazemai Kyudo club thanking Masa for being the best coach ever.
Verdict
This season ends on a hopeful note promising that the Kazemai Kyudo club will come back better than ever in the next part. Not only them but even Tsujimine and Kirisaki, who will lose many of their older members, will now have newer members, whom we will witness later. Now that this anime has officially ended, I cannot wait for the next season, which will hopefully come out soon. Watch this anime on HIDIVE.
