Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 8 Overview

Still From Tokyo Revengers Season 2

When the first season ended, fans felt endless frustration because of the massive cliffhanger of the last episode that left many questions unanswered. This is why the hype around this anime is insane, and we are sure it will live up to it.

Director Hatsumi Kouichi, who also worked in anime like Darling in the FranXX, Deadman Wonderland, Hunter x Hunter, etc, will handle the direction for the series. Studio LIDENFILMS which handled the first season of this anime will be returning for this season. They have worked on Koi to Uso, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Yofukashi no Uta, etc.

The opening song will be White Noise (ホワイトノイズ), performed by Official HIGE DANdism, and the ending theme will be Kizutsu kedo, Aishiteru. (傷つけど、愛してる。), performed by TUYU.

I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Still From Tokyo Revengers Season 2

Another episode of Tokyo Revengers is here, and we are back again with a review of how this episode went. This episode starts with Takemichi and Taiju fighting. Well, we can’t really call it a fight when Taiju is one-sidedly beating the crap out of Takemichi, and he takes the punches like a champ.

Hakkai tries to stop him and talk Takemichi out of this merciless thrashing, but Takemichi knows he can’t do that as he has the responsibility to change the future, and save everyone. Even if there is a slight chance of him beating Taiju, he will continue to fight. And by some god’s grace, a miracle happens; Takemichi manages to land a single punch on Taiju. But it is not just a simple hit, as it literally lands Taiju on his knees.

This single act of braveness, where despite being weak, Takemichi keeps fighting against the stronger Taiju, motivates Hakkai immensely, and he finally spills the secrets. The talks of him protecting Yuzuha have all been lies. He never saved her, but she’s the one who shielded him all her life.

Hakkai obviously wanted to stop assaults on his sister but never got the confidence to actually do anything. This also proves why he was so scared of his older brother that he couldn’t even try to initiate a direct confrontation with him.

Hearing this, Takemichi and others from Toman do not hesitate to call him out for doing such a shitty thing, but they also accept that they are not any different from Hakkai. They, too, want to escape from bad things in their life, but as they have people to protect, they need to get back up.

They encourage Hakkai enough for him to finally fight with his older brother and swear to never wear a Black Dragon’s outfit ever again. What happens next is something that you should watch and experience yourself.

Verdict

This is another great episode from Tokyo Revengers. Finally, we are close to the conclusion of this long conflict between the Shiba siblings. The climax of this episode makes you wish to see the next episode as soon as possible, as it features a very special entry. Watch this anime on Hulu.
