Today’s Webtoon (오늘의 웹툰) is a 2022 Korean Coming-of-age Drama based on a Japanese Manga named Juhan Shuttai! by Naoko Matsuda. The series features Kim Se-jeong, Choi Daniel and Nam Yoon-su in leading roles. The series runs for 16 episodes and Today’s Webtoon Episode 8 has a runtime of 66 minutes.

In Today’s Webtoon Episode 8, Ji-hyung and Ma-eum have to hide it from their colleagues that Artist Na might be leaving their platform. Jang Man-chul holds a meeting and informs his team that Youngtoon has been stealing artists from many other platforms so they should take care of their artists. The team is worried and Man-chul notices a difference in Ji-hyung and Ma-eum’s behaviour. Ma-eum wants to visit Artist Na but Ji-hyung has already set up a meeting with him and doesn’t let Ma-eum come with him because they want to burden the artist. Na has been thinking about trying new things but he hasn’t finalized anything yet.
Artist Pomme has found a secret camera inside her home. Jun-yeong goes to help her and finds all the cameras at her home hacked by someone. He covers all the cameras and suggests that she file a police complaint. Pomme has been feeling uncomfortable lately because she feels someone is stalking her and taking her pictures. All of her delivery products have also been stolen. Jun-yeong reassures her and asks her if she can bring someone to live with her but Jun-yeong promises to visit her often as she has no friends or family in Seoul.

Artist Na has started drawing a new webtoon to try out at Youngtoon but he isn’t ready to let go of ‘Princess Kumiho’ yet. His girlfriend is happy that he can finally pay attention to her but he is totally distracted on their date. Na sees Kumiho everywhere and feels like he is abandoning someone he cherishes a lot. His girlfriend gets mad at him again and leaves him saying that he can never stop drawing Kumiho because he loves him more than his girlfriend. While Ji-hyung sits in the office nervously, a sudden call from Na levitates his mood. Na has decided to continue ‘Princess Kumiho’ while also trying a different webtoon at Youngtoon.

Man-chul has given a new project to Jun-yeong and Ma-eum to remake a comic book into a webtoon. The book was released before they were born and Man-chul thinks that current youth should know it and old classics shouldn’t be buried with time. Jun-yeong and Ma-eum have also been working hard on debuting their rookie artists and in the process, Jun-yeong has started catching feelings for Ma-eum. Shin Dae-ryuk’s webtoon has been finalized to get published on the platform but Ma-eum is not able to reach him. Dae-ryuk has some childhood trauma which has been triggered due to the rain and he has climbed a building as if to jump off from it.
Today’s Webtoon Episode 8 Ending
Ji-hyung leaves the office first after getting good news from Artist Na but Ma-eum and Jun-yeong stay behind to finish their work. However, Ma-eum gets a call from an unknown number and both of them run out of the office in hurry. They try to catch Ji-hyung but he has already left in a car. Ji-hyung gets a surprise visit from someone from Youngtoon and they offer him the position of Chief editor. It is as if Youngtoon is deliberately trying to bring NEON down.

Today’s Webtoon Episode 8 encompasses a variety of emotions in one episode, the main one being fear of loss. Na fears losing his creation, Man-chul fears losing his company, Ji-hyung fears losing his main artist and Ma-eum fears losing her favourite cartoon character. Dae-ryuk’s character has been discussed deeply here as we see he has some sort of trauma which reflects in his webtoon as well. His webtoon is the the representative her as his Weapon Feeb attacks those who give in to the fear.
