The Zone Survival Mission Episode 4 Review: The Haunted House

The Zone Survival Mission is an all-new variety show that is here to make you laugh like no other, but that is not the only thing that it does. Directed by Cho Hyojin and Kim Dongjin, starring the Running Man series Lee Kwang-soo and Yoo Jae-suk along with Kwon Yuri.

The Zone Survival Mission takes the players to different zones with a specific stimulation that triggers challenges for the group. All they have to do is survive for four hours in the disaster-simulated virtual space.

Disney+Hotstar’s synopsis of the show reads:

IN A DISASTER-SIMULATED VIRTUAL SPACE, MEMBERS HAVE TO SURVIVE FOUR HOURS IN THE UNKNOWN.

-The Zone Survival Mission Episode 4 Review Contains Spoilers-

The Zone Survival Mission takes the members Lee Kwang-soo, Yoo Jae-suk and Kwon Yuri onto another zone that seems easy but will prove to be among the toughest. After having failed the Virus Zone which spoke about the current pandemic and the possibilities of a zombie-like virus in the future, the members were given no Z coins and sent to the next zone.

Upon entering the next mission which is inside a house, the members are more relaxed as they underestimate this zone. That is until they realise that this is a zone that will spook them into wanting to quit.

This zone is called the Safety Zone where they are to keep a certain distance from each other, if not then the penalty is an increase in their time with 10 minutes being added each time this rule is violated. However, they can decrease the time by entering the S zones in various rooms.

From the kitchen to the various rooms in the house, each one contains a ghost or a prop that will scare them as they are often seen running back to the main hall which seems to be a safe haven. With ghosts chasing them and the random piano playing, the three still managed to snatch up a bag of Ramen from a clown in one of the rooms.

And in the face of food, even a haunted house like this gets to hear them laughing at their embarrassing moments as they add in some eggs and kimchi from the refrigerator for their meal.

But things aren’t peaceful for long as their safe haven is now beginning to get infiltrated by these ghosts and pushing them to the brink of quitting. But will the three give up? We will find out in the next episode!

Summing Up: The Zone Survival Mission Episode 4

This was one spooky episode which scare you while also making you laugh. Being a scaredy-cat myself, I definitely found it spooky but these three have the magic of turning these scary scenarios into hilarious ones.

I have to add that Yuri has proved herself yet again as she leads the team throughout the episode while the other two continue to scream and run the whole time. But the three really make this show worthwhile together and I am eagerly waiting for the continuation of this zone and also the next zone that has more hidden surprises.
