Netflix’s The Way of the Househusband Part 2 Review: Tatsu is Back!

The Way of the Househusband is an Anime TV series directed by Chiaki Kon and starring Kenjiro Tsuda, Shizuka Ito, and Kazuyuki Okitsu as the voice cast. The Way of the Househusband part 2 has 5 episodes. The Netflix series is based on the manga by the same name written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono. The Netflix adaptation is produced by J.C.Staff.

Netflix describes the series as:

After disappearing from the underworld, the legendary yakuza Tatsu, “the Immortal Dragon,” resurfaces — as a fiercely devoted stay-at-home husband.

If you’ve read any of my other Househusband reviews, you’d know I am a huge fan. And The Way of the Househusband part 2 starts off with Miku losing her mind over Policure and Tatsu taking a fight too seriously. Every episode is as extra as the next and Tatsu’s deathly gaze while talking about the most innocent things is just so hilarious.

There are several hilarious moments in the series, but Miku and Tatsu losing their minds at the petting zoo is just too cute for my heart to take. But apart from that, we also get to see glimpses of Tatsu’s background while in the yakuza versus now that he has a normal life. Of course, the next episode is of them playing volleyball where he gets “carried like a princess” so you know.

The passion with which he makes tapioca milk tea or his passion for housework in general is commendable. The Way of the Househusband part 2 is an extension of the first part in every way possible. The series is short, sweet and the deadpan humour is what I live for. The slice-of-life series is truly something you can unwind in front of and don’t have to think too much as the episodes fly by.

As choppy and odd-looking as the animation can get sometimes with The Way of the Househusband, it has a special place in my heart. Some episodes are better than others, but most aren’t the best. Regardless, on a personal note, I like this animation style and Tatsu is just so extra that nothing matters after a while.

Summing up: The Way of the Househusband part 2

The Way of the Househusband is a slice-of-life series that is hilarious and extra, just how I like it. if you’re in the mood for something light and fun, this one’s really going to tickle the funny bones.

The Way of the Househusband is streaming on Netflix.
