The Uncanny Counter Season 2 Episode 12 Recap

The Uncanny Counter season 2 episode 12 begins with the Counters reuniting and setting off to fight Pil-gwang for the last time. The attacks soon begin and the Counters can finally suppress Pil-gwang, however, this is not enough as the evil spirit needs to be summoned for all of this to end.

The only way to do this is to get Ju-seok’s help which can only be done when So Mun enters his consciousness and finds him. However, So Mun is worried about strengthening Pil-gwang by calling for the territory, but the Counters assure him to go ahead while they protect him from the outside.

Believing in them, So Mun does as said and begins his search for Ju-seok only to come face to face with Pil-gwang inside the consciousness. Thus, the fight begins both inside and outside with the Counters failing on both sides. Pil-gwang suppresses the Counters and is about to kill them all once and for all when So Mun’s tears finally bring Ju-seok back.

With his control back, Ju-seok rushes to stab himself with an iron bar to kill himself along with Pil-gwang while So Mun understands what happens and is not ready to let the two die. He quickly summons Pil-gwang and ends his story while inside Ju-seok’s consciousness. Meanwhile, Mae-ok saves Ju-seok, however, they soon realise that while everything has ended, So Mun hasn’t woken up yet.

Elsewhere, So Mun follows Ju-seok and finds him in the unfinished apartment that they were scammed off. Inside is Ju-seok’s ideal life with his family and he is not ready to move on from this illusion. Aware that this place is soon going to collapse with the end of Ju-seok’s life, So Mun tells him to leave with him so that he doesn’t lose his life.

Unfortunately, Ju-seok is not ready and it is only when So Mun tells him that he will meet Min-ji again does Ju-seok finally leave with So Mun. The two open their eyes in the real world and the storm finally settles for everyone. Mae-ok makes sure that Ju-seok does not remember anything during the time he was possessed before sending him to the police.

Following this, So Mun leaves to send Pil-gwang to hell and with Wi Gen by his side, he finally closes the chapter of Pil-gwang. Elsewhere, the Chinese Counters finally reunite and Mae-ok fulfils the promise of her special noodle bowl for the Counters. On the other hand, Ju-seok is taken into custody by Mo-tak and before entering the police station, he meets his mother for one last time before leaving for some time.

However, what he doesn’t know is that So Mun has made preparations for him to meet Min-ji one last time before they reunite at the end. The next day, the Counters begin cleaning up the mess while news about Ju-seok blares everywhere. Elsewhere, So Mun arrives to meet Ju-seok and tells him to hang in there and that his mother will be visiting the next day.

They rush to the spirits and demand answers when So Mun appears and tells them that he requested to leave early so that no such case like Ju-seok’s would happen again anywhere.

Left with no other choice, the Counters respect his decision and see him off with smiles and best wishes. However, on the way, Jeok-bong smells a spirit and they decide to leave So Mun on the way to the airport to see himself off.

  1. It was an amazing show with amazing characters and amazing scenes. It’s very hard to say goodbye we will miss this show dearly the only thing we can do right now is hope for another season. It’ll be amazing to see them grow up if they make a season three for now we can just appreciate the last episode. Having a happy ending, and a beautiful beginning to all the counters right?

  3. All I will say is I love the show, the characters all brought their A games each episode, each season, their chemistries are off the charts and they have fun together. They certainly deserve a S3 if not more. Ty all encounters for the laughter, sadness, and tears until we meet again stay safe and good luck with all your other endeavors.

  4. Hell yeah for the 3rd season. I would like to see jangmul as the new yung spirit as he retires. See the development of jeok bong’s smelling powers and ga mo-tak’s psychokinesis improvementnand his silly side. Also, so Mun in season 1 absorbed the healing powers of the counter from Singapore. I would like to see So Mun heal Ms chu and the other counters.
