The Trial Season 2 Ending Explained
The series opens with Noyonika taking on cases after getting her foot firmly planted as a lawyer, while things remain icy between her and Rajiv. As her relationship with her daughters suffers, Rajiv, against Noyonika’s wishes, decides to fight in the elections against a headstrong and skilled opposition leader, Narayani. This creates further turmoil at home as Noyonika is unhappy with the media attention that they will now get.
Either way, she takes up two cases in this span that test everything that she stands for – an attempted murder trial case for influencer Shanaya and a case against a builder who is responsible for poisoning many residents. While both go through their ups and downs, things get tense at the workplace when Malini and Vishal butt heads after a new partner joins the firm.
What happens to Noyonika and Rajiv in the end?

In the end, Noyonika is shocked to learn that Rajiv has been unfaithful in the past, and it was with none other than Sana. She is heartbroken and disgusted that he took advantage of her to get her away from her abusive husband back home. She is betrayed that not only did Rajiv not tell her the truth, but that Sana, who is her close friend, chose to keep this a secret.
In the end, having given her marriage her all, she decides to set an example for herself and her daughters, opting to divorce Rajiv and start their lives anew.
Does Rajiv win the election?
In episode 5, Noyonika decides to help Rajiv in the election after Narayani raids their home. However, despite making good headway, Rajiv does not win the election in the end.

What happens between Malini and Vishal?
As it turns out, Malini and Vishal simply had a misunderstanding thanks to their new partner, Param, who has been spying on them and trying to break the firm and push Malini out. In the end, the two of them ask Param to leave, and the firm goes back to normal.
What does the ending signify?

In the end, after breaking up with Rajiv, Noyonika finally chose happiness for herself and went to meet Vishal, who had assured her that his door would always be open for her. However, just as she’s about to enter his room, she gets a call from Rajiv and stops in her tracks. The ending probably symbolises that although she wants to move on, she can’t leave Rajiv behind since they have two children. However, will she stay with Rajiv for the kids or have a healthy friendship for their sake? That remains to be seen in the next season!
