The Slumber Party Cast

The movie stars Darby Camp as Megan, Emmy Liu-Wang as Paige, Alex Cooper Cohen as Veronica, and Valentina Herrera as Anna Maria, along with Dallas Liu as Mikey Ramon Jose Rodriguez as Jake. It also features Tituss Burgess as Mesmer the hypnotist, Paula Pell and Caroline Valencia.

The Slumber Party Plot/Storyline

Written by Eydie Faye and directed by Veronica Rodriguez (Let’s Get Merried), the movie will deal with the strength that lies in friendship. Naturally, a bunch of kids who are on a quest need a lot of strength not to give up and keep going, no matter the hardships. While all this sounds too harsh for the upcoming movie, it will certainly have these underlying themes to send the message.

However, from the trailer, it is clear that the makers have left no stone unturned to make sure that the story has a lot more to offer than just the intended moral. Coming-of-age comedies are a lot of fun, and the trailer shows how there will be a basic sense of all that is going to occur and not outright nonsensical stuff that often pulls us out of a movie.

On the eve of Anna Maria’s birthday, her friends Megan, Paige, and Veronica have planned big things. Megan has even hired a hypnotist, Mesmer. But the sleepover that follows as a result of botched hypnotism leads to the disappearance of Anna Maria and Megan, Paige and Veronica having no memories of the night before. To find Anna, they have to retrace their steps through a flock of ducklings in a bathtub, Megan’s missing eyebrow and her crush’s jacket that she is wearing, among other hitherto unimaginable stuff.

Intended to humour and delight audiences of all ages, the movie will incorporate everything that kids usually end up doing only to deal with the consequences. But don’t worry; the consequences will not be harmful, maybe a little bit, considering Veronica does wreck herself somewhat while trying to do parkour, but not that much.

Whatever led to the disappearance of Ann Maria apparently has a connection with a High School, which is why they plan on breaking in into it. Since they plan on breaking in, the school might not be the one they go to unless they plan to break in on a holiday. We also get a romantic angle as we see Megan head over heels for Jake. Overall, The Slumber Party will deal with a lot of thrill and confusion, and Mesmer will be a part of it, too, it seems. Let’s wait a few days more to find out what kind of epic really is in store for us.

The Slumber Party Release Date and Trailer

The movie will release on Disney+ on July 27, 2023. It has a runtime of 1 hour and 45 minutes. Here’s the trailer to get you all pumped up.
