The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 Premiere: Winter Is Coming & Frat Problems

Fans have been desperately waiting for The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 to happen and, now that it is here, the first episode episodes have been pleasantly delightful to let us into the lives of our same old characters- Whitney, Leighton, Kimberley and Bela!

This season opens with the girls returning back to college after their break. We get to know that Nico is expelled but, that does not largely affect Leighton or the girls. In fact, this season, we are in to explore Leighton getting out of the closet and hot and heavy with some sexual interests. Poor Kimberely has to be the one suffering the most as we realise she hasn’t revealed to her parents about her lost scholarship and, seems like she possibly won’t be able to anytime soon. So, she definitely has to find her way out of the mess she is in.

Bela is sky-high with creating her all-girls comedy magazine and, although, it is not a hit immediately, her resilience and confidence pull her up (with a little help from a special someone) to keep looking for candidates to build her comedy empire. As per the first two episodes, Whitney is clearly the most lost one out of the crowd. With soccer being off-season, Whitney finds it hard to find her calling during the break. Her relationship with Canaan looks great but, is sure, edging towards hitting a tough spot.

The first two episodes of The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 mostly revolved around the main theme of the girls getting kicked out by the Theta boys from frat parties which motivated them to find a rather sultry and, somewhat feminist, way to get back into the parties while also restoring Theta’s image on the college campus.

The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 Episode 1 and 2: Final Thoughts

The pilot episodes of The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 were actually very fun to watch. The show has kept up with its comic elements while also building light foundations for our characters this season and what they will be potentially dealing with throughout the season. The characters continue to charm us with Bela and Kimberely being the absolute best at what they do.

Seeing Leighton come out of her comfort very visibly does so much good to her character as we are able to see her beyond her hard and affluent exterior and see her be real and comfy with her friends. Whitney’s character, however, looks like needs some work done but, hopefully, it will improve with the upcoming episodes. The friendship between the girls remains strong, although, it is weird how they aren’t involved in helping each other much.

For instance, Bela’s idea for Leighton and Whitney to help Kimberely sounds amazing. Leighton could just ask money for shopping and hand it over to Kimberely but, somewhere, they do not approach this angle. This could be to show how independent Kimberely is but, at the same time, it reflects badly on Leighton and Whitney not being the most supportive ones in the crowd. As a group, the characters come across as egocentric but, again, this is just the first two episodes to give out any final verdict.

You can watch The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 Episode 1 and Episode 2 now on HBO Max.
