The On1y One Episode 7 Recap

The episode begins with Wang waking up in Tian’s room and suddenly realizing he has a morning flub. Embarrassed, he tries to hide it from Tian, who quickly notices but graciously allows Wang to slip out of the room without making it more awkward. Wang feels a wave of humiliation, knowing that Tian saw his little mishap. The scene then shifts to their school, where Wang communicates with Tianyang solely through sticky notes, avoiding speaking aloud. The class teacher enters, announcing that Wang and Tian have given up their roles as model students, passing the position to Liu Jiu and Tianyang instead. This decision leaves Qi upset and filled with regret, realizing how things have spiraled.
Later, Tian notices a stray cat wandering around the school and is reminded of his childhood pet, Leader, stirring up old memories of his early years. When Wang invites Tian to visit Old Ding’s house, Tian declines, claiming he has other things to do. Wang goes alone to visit Ding, and on his way home, he encounters an aggressive man. Through a conversation with Uncle Ding, Wang learns the man is Huanyu, Tian’s father, who caused him a great deal of misery in the past.

This revelation gives Wang a deeper understanding of Tian’s difficult childhood and how Ding’s pet cat Leader became a source of comfort for him. Wang also comes to realize why Tian always keeps a suitcase packed — a sign that he has never truly felt at home. Back at school, Tianyang informs Wang that the roll call is happening. Tian notices Qi’s absence and hurriedly leaves the classroom in search of Wang, fearing that any confrontation could lead to violence. In the classroom, Tianyang tries to cover for their absence by telling the teacher they are at the clinic, but the English teacher sees through the lie and punishes him by making him squat.
To his dismay, Tianyang’s pants rip, but he handles the situation with humor, making the class laugh and easing the tension. Meanwhile, Tian frantically searches for Wang and is startled when Wang appears suddenly. The scene cuts to a flashback where Wang recalls meeting Xi and Lin, who revealed Huanyu’s plan to take Tian away. They had asked Wang to protect Tian, understanding the danger he might be in. In response, Wang decides to take matters into his own hands.

The two decide to skip school and spend the day together, enjoying carefree moments. They play darts, roam the streets, and share meaningful conversations, allowing their friendship to deepen. As they wander, they stumble upon their single parents having a marriage proposal discussion. The sight alarms Wang, who quickly pulls Tian away before he causes a scene. Once they’re alone, Wang jokes about how their parents’ marriage would make them brothers, but this causes Tian to fall into deep thought.
Sensing the weight of the moment, Wang breaks the silence, boldly suggesting they both move into a dorm together so Tian can finally stop packing his things and feel like he has a real home. Tian, touched by Wang’s offer, agrees to the idea. Later, during dinner, the boys break the news to their parents, announcing their decision to leave home and live in the dorm. Their parents are shocked by the sudden decision, but the boys remain firm.
The episode concludes with a humorous moment from Tian’s perspective, where he reflects on how he too experienced a morning flub earlier, quietly chuckling to himself as he connects the dots of their shared embarrassment.
