The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 1 Review: Builds Excitement

The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 1 ‘My Least Favourite Year’ is now streaming on Apple TV+. The series stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin, and Marcia Gay Harden. The new star cast includes Greta Lee, Ruairi O’Connor, Hasan Minhaj, Cybil Richards, Tara Karsian, Valeria Golino, and Julianna Margulies.

The synopsis reads – Controversy and betrayal strike TMS as a new year approaches. Alex faces a difficult decision.

The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 1 Review Does Not Contain Spoilers

The Morning Show on Apple TV+ is back after a year and a half. Alex (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley (Reese Witherspoon) risked their careers to expose UBA President Fred Micklin for ignoring complaints about an unsafe work environment for women in the season one finale. The first episode opens up just where we left off, with Alex and Bradley distressed about what they’ve done. As seen in the trailer, Alex leaves The Morning Show, and Bradley finds a new partner in Eric (played by Hasan Minhaj).

After the opening credits, there are shots of empty streets due to the coronavirus outbreak in March 2020. The makers then take us back three months to a time when everyone is looking forward to celebrating New Year’s Eve and bidding 2019 farewell. The UBA has undergone various changes as a result of Alex-shocking Bradley’s revelations. Cory Ellison (Billy Crudup) is the network’s new president, and he appears to be straining to keep up.

A lot is going on in the first episode, and it isn’t easy to keep up with everything. While we’re still trying to figure out what’s changed since the first season, there are even more changes in the second episode. Despite the chaos, you can’t wait to see what happens next. Without giving anything away,  I can say that the first episode includes dance, drama, lies, falling ratings, a new accusation and anticipation for 2020.

The last ten minutes are fast-paced, as everyone is hoping 2020 to be better for them. Unfortunately, no one knows what will happen, just as the real world was clueless while welcoming 2020. As a result, the conclusion has piqued my interest in upcoming episodes. I’m hoping they will have a clear vision of what the new season will be about from the second episode.

The second episode of The Morning Show Season 2 will be out on September 24.
