The Mandalorian Season 1 Recap

Each season of The Mandalorian has a total of eight episodes. In the Star Wars Universe, Mandalorians are the multiethnic clan from Mandalore and are the warriors for battles. The Empire, of course, took over their homelands leaving very few behind who formed The Tribe, where our titular character of this story belongs from.

The essential storyline showcases how after the fall of the Galactic Empire, Din Djarin aka Mando, a lone Mandalorian bounty hunter scours the outer edges of the galaxy as he gets hired by remnant Imperial forces. He is supposed to retrieve the child Grogu and deliver it to The Client. However, he ends up being less of the kidnapper and more of the protector of our baby Yoda Grogu. He goes on a spin to make sure Grogu is reunited with his kind and, in time is pursued by the leader of the fallen Galactic Empire, Moff Gideon, whose intentions are to use Grogu’s connection to the Force to help the Empire build itself again.

Throughout the first season, we see how Mando tries to protect Grogu from the hunters looming over their heads. But, soon Mando decides that they need to take out The Client to ensure a proper safety net for them. He seeks the help of Greef Karga (who heads his Mandalorian guild) in this process along with help from Cara Dune (a former Rebel shock trooper turned mercenary), Kuiil (a nomad) and IG-11 (a bounty hunter bot).

As our group fights off the evil forces of the Empire, essentially headed by Gideon there are some escapades and some deaths. Kuiil is killed while IG-11 is seen sacrificing itself to help Mando, Grogu, Cara and Greef escape. Cara and Greef team up and part ways with Mando and Grogu who set out to continue their mission.

The Mandalorian Season 2 Recap

The second season of The Mandalorian essentially sees Grogu reunite with his kind and find his place beside Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. The meeting with The Armourer was another arc that was completed in season two, here we finally see Djarin remove this helmet and show his face, mostly proving his love and duty towards Grogu. However, there are certain things season two showed us that takes us to a third season of the show. In context, Madalorians never remove their helmets as it is their strictest code of conduct.

We see Djarin defeat Gideon, making him the possessor of Darksaber, a blade extremely important to the Star Wars Universe as the possessor of the blade is the ruler of Mandalore but, is Djarin that? With everything lost and given and the saber in his hold, we see that Djarin really doesn’t want it. We have Bo-Katan in place to take hold of it but, that remains uncertain throughout the season.

The post-credit scene for the second season also showed us Boba Fett and Fennec invading Jabba the Hutt’s palace and ending Jabba’s right hand Bib Fortuna and his others.
