The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power Episodes 1 and 2
Sucking us back to the greatest fantasy world ever created, The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power offers us two very interesting episodes to leech onto. With stunning visuals and acting performances that all make it worth a big screen release, the episodes might seem slow but, for hardcore LoTR fans, the pace is also worth it.
Cate Blanchett’s Galadriel is younger in this prequel series and is the main character who is responsible for guiding us through the story. This time Galadriel is played by Morfydd Clark, who sure does nail the role in every scene. We start off the first episode with a LoTR-like monologue giving us context of where we are when the story begins.
We meet Clark’s Galadriel and her brother and, before we know it, the fear of Morgoth is introduced and Sauron’s terror trauma is explored. In a brief preface that is about seven to eight minutes long, we get to know how Morgoth terrorized the Middle Earth with his darkness and the elven warriors put their best put forward to defeat him. In this course, we see Galadriel lose her brother, which affects her deeply.

Years later, although, Morgoth and his Orces have been defeated, Galadriel is still out there searching for the evil which is now spread by Sauron, Morgoth’s most devoted follower. On her journey, she realizes that the evil is not gone but, the world sure is eager to forget about it after all these years.
Through the course of the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power, we explore and understand Sauron’s return to Middle Earth and how various creatures in the fantasy land from Elves to Harfoots get affected as the viciousness of the dark lord seems to be spreading all over again.
The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power (Ep 1-2): Final Thoughts
After watching the first two episodes, the common verdict about The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power is that it seems slow and, in all honesty, it is. Focus is put more on the dialogue exchanges than on the action and the threats that all our heroes have to encounter over different lands. This might be one reason the show gives off a laid-back vibe. However, within the span of two hours, it has already blessed us with a promising start.

The visuals are breathtaking and, yes, no doubt this might just be the most expensive television series ever made. It holds itself up to the legacy its predecessor has left us with and, will surely, thrive with the arrival of more episodes that will give it more edge with time. The actors are cast just right and the performances- especially by Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova and Markella Kavenagh are really note-worthy.
You can watch the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power now on Amazon Prime Video.
